Hi,

I am considering purchasing an Apple Watch with GSM.

During one of my conversation with a rep, or I have read that somewhere, it says that the Apple Watch will get a different number than your iPhone.

Is that true ?

Means if someone is calling you on your cell phone, then your watch don't ring if you are out of reach of your iPhone, means it's pointless...

Or they were saying like getting a digit number for the Apple Watch.

I am finding this pretty odd wince my brother got an iPhone XS, Apple Watch Serie 4, iPhone 6S, and a portable router, all on the same number.

He can even choose to activate or deactivate the voice per device.

So a little concern by what I heard.

SO, you guys who are owning an Apple Watch with GSM, what number comes with it ? Your main one or a different one ?

If different, how do you receive calls on your watch while too far from your iPhone ?

Thanks

We have a special Data W/Paired DIGITS plan that you will want to activate on the watch. This plan has the same number as your primary line. Give us a call and we can get you all set up.

Great question!

You can do either! I would say most people use the watch in tandem with their existing number. You'll just need to get the cell enabled version of the iPhone and by default it will be compatible with the existing number which sounds like what you are interested in!

So, the iWatch w/o GSM, of course it has to be connected to the phone in order to answer phone calls and receiving text messages.

I am talking about the iWatch with GSM.

This one don't have to be linked to the iPhone permanently in order to work as long as you get an eSIM.

The problem is what number is attached to that eSIM ?

What I heard is that it was a new number.

The point is, you need the same number as your cell phone in order to pick up phone calls or receiving texts while you are doing your jogging.

I want to know if that eSIM inside the iWatch can have the same phone number. Because answers I got was like a no, was different. And people needs somehow a digit number for it. Not sure why ? Issues to find a logic and getting some sense to this answer I got once.

Hi tmo_Chris,

Thanks for teh details.

What is the price for a wearable like the iWatch ? (I mean, per month for the service on the GSM version).

So, this is good news, same number.

But, since it's a data plan, this means in area with bad service (1 bar for example), where voice is working well but not the data (if LTE is not written, and you got 4G, forget about having internet working), that means the watch will have issues getting phone calls.

Sad T-Mobile didn't figure out how to set a second SIM with the exact same phone number, and data on it. Would had been more reliable.

I will consider the GSM version. Will have to think about it.

If you plan to do an installment plan, the upfront cost may vary depending on the watch as well as your account. For accurate pricing, either call us or log into your my.t-mobile.com account.

I am just interest about the price for the service, not the installment.

If I'm purchasing the watch, it's cash....

I will use the chat then. Thanks

Ohh, the plan itself, sorry for the confusion.

That plan is $10/month when you use AutoPay or $15/month without.

Hi,

Ok, great, Thanks....

Will consider it. Thanks for the info.
