cancel/add line

I am needing to cancel a line and port out a number because my mom is moving to her own plan.  I then need to add a new line with a new number for my son.  Would there be a waiting period on time I can cancel a line and add a new one?  And, would I be eligible for promotions for my new line to get my son’s phone?

It depends on the promo.  Some promos have restrictions, like not having canceled a line in the past 60 or so days.  Always read the full terms of any promotion before you sign up for it.


Your mom needs to visit a T-Mobile store or call Customer Care to go through the credit check to have her own account.
