Good question @serofeev and thanks for posting.

Our No Credit Check plans are unable to take advantage of international roaming benefits with 140 countries. You can click the Compare Phone Plans button on our Cell Phone Plans | Cheap Cell Phone Plans & Unlimited Data | T-Mobile page to get a chart of what's included for Simple Choice No Credit Check plans.

Just a side note. You can still benefit form the Mobile Without Borders when you use your service in Mexico and Canada.

Simple Choice North America No Credit Check does not include free text & (slow) data in 140+ countries.

However......

If you had this plan for 12 months or more, You can take the "Mobile Equality" offer, or whatever it was called, to update your plan to "Standard" Simple Choice North America plan, which includes international slow data & text. Slow data is useless for smartphones but if you have one of those 2004 model Motorolas, it will work fine 😊

If you qualify (had SCNC for 12+ months with no late payments), go to a T-Mobile store and ask them to change your plan to Standard Simple Choice. There is no credit check required.

We have used Samsungs and LG phones on data in 10 countries (with a new one coming up in 2 days - Ecuador).  Never a problem.  Have used Google Maps for driving for hours/days in Romania and Croatia w.o. skipping a beat.  Even streamed a radio broadcast of a college football game while in China.   Did have trouble once or twice streaming newscasts.  One advantage in China - you are not blocked by the great Chinese firewall.)

I guess that is exactly how it is supposed to be 😊

You can use maps, social apps etc.... but you're not going to be able to watch the New York Derby live while vacationing in Cyprus (well, I wasn't!)

I think the speeds are up to 3G but really depends on the roaming partner & mostly the country's infrastructure.

In most countries the speed seems to be pegged exactly at 110-112Kbps.
