not renewing phone and number after being stolen

I'm not sure exactly when it happened but one of the phones on my plan was stolen. I reported that it was but got confirmation of the theft. The person who had the phone is no longer in the equation and I need to find out if I need to finish paying of the phone. I only need the remaining two phones so will I be penalized?

stolen or not it’ll need to be paid off...if you had insurance on it you could get a replacement device for whatever amount so at least youre paying off something you can physically have in your hand?
