I want to switch to T-Mobile. I want to get a IPhone XS or XR. I know the new IPhone release is in September probably. I want to know when can I upgrade on 24 month installments and if when the new IPhone releases and the Xr and/or Xs price drop will the price of the phone change for my contract.

Tmobile doesn't adjust their pricing, so if you a phone in August and the price drops in October you're EIP will stay the same.

The only time of adjustment happens if the price drops happens within your 14 day return window.  If you know the price will drop just wait until it does.

The price will not decrease after purchase. Whatever you bought it at is what you will pay for it.

Don't they have to jump through a little hoop in returning it within the remorse period then

repurchasing it then possibly face a restocking fee.

That $50 restocking fee almost always offsets any benefit.

EIP's are based on the current pricing at the time of purchase divided by the number of months your EIP spans over.  Taxes and potentially an upgrade fee are all due in-store at the time of purchase.

No they just adjust the numbers and there is no restocking fee for them to do it as you are not returning the device.  After the 14 days they are stuck on the price signed.
