My phone is locked to T-mobile and had put in a request to unlock a week ago providing my IMEI. I am no more a T-mobile customer, so my phone does not accept any other sim. I was told that I would have it unlocked within 48 hours, but it is not even after 7 days. I had put a request again and even that timeframe has passed. What should I do to have this issue resolved and avoid false assurances from your representatives?

Did you have a postpaid plan or prepaid plan?
If it's a prepaid plan one of the requirements is being used a year and
having $100 in refills.
If it's an iPhone ,Tmobile has to request the code from them and may take more time.
I never used a T-mobile sim on my iPhone. My sim carrier is a sister company of T-mobile, therefore my phone accepts only T-mobile and its sister company networks. When I try something like AT&T, my phone says that it is locked to T-mobile.

Have you contacted the MVNO or Metro who you were using?
They're the ones who need to put in the unlock request.
Yes, I did and also went to their local office. They say that my phone is
T-mobile locked phone. So, T-mobile needs to unlock it.

I tried it and also contacted Ultra Mobile about it. The response was same
as above.

I would contact Ultra Mobile again and let them know you're filing
a complaint with the FCC.
okay, thank you. I will just go ahead and file a complaint against both
T-mobile and Ultra Mobile for neither providing a solution nor informing
who actually locked the phone.

Is this an iPhone that you bought unlocked from a Best Buy or similar place?
If so, once a sim card is put in that phone Apple will lock it to whatever carrier
using the Apple 3rd party reseller flex program. People who know about the program
use a Verizon sim since they can't lock their phones.
The imei# won't show in Tmobile's system since they didn't sell the phone so this is an
Apple issue that they refuse to own up to so you're best bet is to contact Tmobile using
messenger on Facebook or Twitter to see if there's anything they can do.

Apple will never admit it their problem but contact T-Force through Facebook using messenger and see if they can get the imei added in the system to show that it's a Tmobile phone.

Getting back to my first comment, I contacted T-mobile many times, they say
they will unlock it, but it doesn't really happen.
I have placed a complaint with the FCC and waiting for a response from the
sim carrier company.

Just a heads up that this is an Apple policy issue so if you ever buy a phone from a 3rd party reseller
always put a Verizon Sim on it first. Verizon can't lock their phones due to a settlement.
