Call customer service to file a claim on a cracked screen, the agent asks us all the information and verifies the account. She then asks us for the gigabyte of the phone, its on the box. its not on the box and we cant see the screen. How the heck do they know everything to verify but not the answer to that question? she denied the claim and wants us to call t mobile to get the info, thats the dumbest shit ever. all info should be in records, that question shouldnt even be asked. off to another carrier, just keeps getting worse and worse

It is listed on the original box the device came in, on the label with the IMEI number, color, and other information about the device.

They didn’t deny your claim they were called by someone attempting to submit an insurance claim for a piece of hardware which their making sure is the person who owns the device is who the are talking to and not a random person who got ahold of some of your info and now wants to have them send a brand new phone out which will render the actual device useless following the failure for it to be returned after mailing out the new one since if it’s not you trying to submit the claim then you won’t know that they expect your current device returned to them within 30 days before the disable the devices functionality or charge you the complete cost of the replacement they sent out.

Something as easy to find as your devices storage capacity would be something anyone could tell them by going to settings then general then about phone and the capacity will be right there, by not being able to verify the storage capacity you set off suspicion on the agents end so the told you to wait and call back because they are currently contacting your accounts contact email or similar to ensure that you were aware that someone is trying to submit an insurance claim on the account you are liable for. Settings general and about tells you all you need. They already know your devices storage capacity they were just trying to make sure whomever they were talking to could verify that info because if you can’t then it’s a possibility someone is submitting a claim against the IMEI and using bare minimum account info. It would be highly unlikely that a intruder would be ready to have that info ahead of time and without going on like and running the IMEI number they couldn’t answer the question within what should be 4 seconds later before you could find it and verify for them.

They won’t deny a claim over the phone as long as it’s under their current protection plan and would have to be like 3 water damage incidents in less than a year or something ridiculous before they would tell you it’s denied with first inspecting the damage to se if they can resell it after the approval of a new device or not

Maybe we need to submit DNA samples at purchase, how ridiculous this is, they had all the other info, more info then bank uses to verify an odd purchase. it wasn't on the box by the way, and what if you didn't have the box? you cant see the screen, come back with better answer then that

Your receipt for the device will also contain the internal storage size.

The same reason your bank doesn’t just let change s be made to your account without first verifying so info. I just told you exactly how to find out how much space you have on your device you have to be completely oblivious to not be able to go to settings on your phone whether it’s an android or an iPhone then go to system info or about phone either one of those depending on whether it’s an iPhone or an android and then literally reading the information about your phone and it will tell you exactly how much storage space your device is capable of holding what are you 90 or something?
