I have upgraded from a 4G LTE to a 5G phone. Do I need a new sim to be able to enjoy the increased speed?

Only if your SIM is more than 3 years old. Even most SIM’s that old, would be fine. Anything older, get a new SIM. Make sure your new device is set to NR(5G) and that the APN is correct. If you bought the device from T-Mobile, it should all be good out of the box. For 5G to work, there has to be 5G available where you are using your device as well.

If you pull your current SIM and look at it (you may need a magnifying glass) and it says either TM9263 or R15, you should be fine.
