Try wi-fi calling?  Open your phone app, settings and look for and enable wi-fi calling.  That should let your phone make and receive calls.

Remove your SIM and reinsert it.  You can also reach T-Mobile by DM on Facebook or Twitter.

My S8 stopped letting me text yesterday (May 13)

I can send MMS texts though.

THEN my incoming calls started going straight to voicemail.

At least I can listen to them & can make a call.

I spoke to tech support & was told Samsung is having the problem that is effecting my specific device, Galaxy S8.

He could NOT tell me when it will be corrected🤯

Did you purchase the s8 from T-Mobile?  That device hasn't had a software or security update in more than a few years now.  If the device is BoLatE compatible for that long ago.  With the standard changing on Google's end, which is the same implentations that T-Mobile uses.  The device might not be compatible with the updates made to VoLTE.

Same here. Out of the blue just stopped receiving in my case making calls as well. having issues texting to. Told it was because the phone is no longer supported and I need to get a new 1. My question is, why all the sudden on May 13th?

I've been on the phone with tech support…

The phone service is being disrupted because of storms in my area yesterday…

The SMS texting problem is with Samsung and the S8 series. They are apparently working on a software patch to fix this. There is no estimated time. Samsung hasn't updated the S8 series in 4 years, so I'm sure it's not going to happen quickly or not at all... I am being upgraded.

What I am finding interesting is that I also had issues 2 weeks ago (Saturday and Sunday).  Come Sunday night/Monday morning, my phone was back to normal.  UNTIL….  last weekend I had the same issues again and low and behold Sunday night, the issues went away again.  No problems all this week.  It is a long weekend and I want to go away, but not sure if I can if my phone is not going to receive and make calls again.  We will see I guess…..

Wow, So sorry to hear that & totally understand the fear of it reoccurring while you're away!!

Before my upgrade arrived, my S8 did start letting me text SMS again, but my phone never let me call out again.

Hope you do go away & that your phone won't let you down…

You should upgrade, if you can…
