Hmm.. perhaps the comfort view is turned on? Are you using an Android? If so, check Settings>Display>Comfort View

this would depend on exactly what devices you are using whether it is Android or iOS and whether you have contrast and accessibility options turned on or not. It could also be that you want to know how to change your wallpaper or it could be any number of apps that have a dark theme versus a light theme.
