tried several credit and debit cards when attempting to refill, but all of them were declined. These cards work fine for regular purchases. Can you explain why this might be happening?

Is your debit card from a US bank? If not. A lot of international cards do not work with T-Mobike's online payment system. You can use your debit card in store though to refill your account.
