T-Mobile is at v11.2.4.4, three versions behind the latest OnePlus release of v11.2.7.7. What's the deal T-Mobile?!?

hey @tmo_mike_c , your answer is unacceptable.  We know what version is current according to TMobile, because we have the device and we check for updates constantly, since we are quite literally 6 weeks behind the rest of the world that owns this phone.

We paid over $1,000 for this phone, no more than 2 or 3 months ago.  The OP explained that OnePlus has released several updates to this BRAND NEW PHONE and TMobile is several updates behind.

We need our phones to work properly.  Many of the updates fix things like battery life and overheating, and basic camera functionality.  Our phones ABSOLUTELY WILL get 11.2.7.7, but we are still waiting on 11.2.5.5 & 11.2.6.6 that people with unlocked variants already got.  The question specifically was:  why is TMobile taking so long to release these fixes to a really buggy, expensive BRAND NEW phone?

This is a problem, and we'd like help...not 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m seeing that’s the latest version we’re running right now. I’m confident if that changes, you’ll get prompted of the new version or you’ll have to restart the device and it’ll give you the option. No word right now if it’ll get v11.2.7.7.

Updates between different models are not directly comparable.  Yes, things in the North American firmware will be updated first.  T-Mobile’s firmware usually gets less updates but those updates are more polished and include updates from multiple updates as well as specific updates to the T-Mobile version.  If you want to learn more about the updates for OnePlus devices.  You should visit the OnePlus forums and potentially consider joining the FUT program to test and receive beta updates.

I'm sorry, but how is a OnePlus 9 Pro bought through TMobile a “different model" than a OnePlus 9 Pro bought elsewhere?  If that were true they should call it ANYTHING else, like the “OnePlus “Larry” Pro brought to you by TMobile" (no affiliation with the 9 Pro)

And what do you mean “things in the north American firmware will be updated first?”   I'm IN North America, and all other users of THIS PHONE (except for TMobile customers) get updates first.  TMobile customers are getting updates to the OnePlus 9 Pro SIX weeks after users of THE SAME PHONE with other carriers get them.

Don't tell me the TMobile updates are more refined.  That is just a lie.  The updates we have been getting have THE SAME UPDATE NUMBERS, they just arrive 6 weeks later than the rest of the world gets their updates to the same model of phone.

This is simply unacceptable for a $1,000+ phone with software and firmware issues!!

There are differences between the North American (also known as Global) firmware and T-Mobile firmware devices and they do have different model numbers.  The North American 9 Pro sold directly by OnePlus, is LE2120 and runs firmware labelled with an AA at the end of it.  The T-Mobile sold device is model LE2127 and the firmware is labelled with a CB at the end of it.  T-Mobile firmware devices are single-SIM and single IMEI only for starters.  Features and default apps found on the North American that can be purchased through OnePlus will slightly differ than the features and default apps of the firmware contained in the T-Mobile firmware.

A little research would have easily found a variety of differences, some of which I have mentioned.  T-Mobile firmware versions are and have always been secondary to the AA firmware in terms of development.  They might be identical, but T-Mobile does provide a very, very small bit of feedback and requirements for those updates before they are pushed.  Most of which are carrier aggregation, APN, stock app updates, and tweaks to the radio firmware.  OnePlus is still the one who releases and pushes the updates to devices.

@tubasco  Seems a lost cause expecting timely updates.

Didn't mean to mark this "Solved" but don't know how to undo that.

next phone you get dont buy a carrier variant and you wont have to wait on their software version to be tested and completed..

or as syaoran pointed out..you could join the OP Beta testers and see first hand when the updates actually start getting worked on and how long it takes before the actual cleared variant gets kicked out
