Where is "lock message" feature gone?

On my old android phone, ver. 8, in messages I was able to lock a single message so that it would not be deleted. It appears on my new android, ver. 12 Samsung s22+, they have eliminated being able to lock single messages. They only offer archive and that does not secure the message from being deleted accidentally. I’ve searched the Play store and can’t find an app that has a lock feature, other than to lock a WHOLE app and that’s not what I want.  Anyone have a work around or an app suggestion?  Thanks

If you are using Textra you can lock single messages.

Samsung uses their own app..so any issues that pop up are all on them to figure out and fix.
