Yes i have tried everything that you can think of! and if i press the sleep and home button the phone shuts off.

Does it allow you to do the button combo for the reset?

Hold down the home button and the power button until the unit shuts down. Then release them both. If the phone doesn't reboot on its own, you may have to press the power button to turn it back on. Make sure that you do not hold the home and power button while the phone restarts because you may accidentally put the unit into DFU mode which would result in losing everything on it - unless you have a program to kick it out of DFU with!
