End of summer and beginning of fall usually means Apple season and we don’t mean apples picked off the trees. Apple is back with some pretty amazing iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods!! Let’s talk a little bit about what to expect with these cool new devices.

Apple iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max

The new iPhone 16 lineup has just been unveiled, featuring significant upgrades that make them stand out. The 16 and 16 Plus are powered by the all-new A18 chip, which promises enhanced performance and efficiency. The 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max have the A18 PRO chip that takes things up another notch. The camera system has received a major boost with a 48MP Fusion camera. Additionally, the iPhone 16 lineup introduces the Action button for quick access to useful features and is totally customizable, so you get the apps you need when you need them. The new Camera Control button is pressure sensitive and allows you to capture those important moments with minimal interaction on the screen.

Have you seen the five vibrant colors for the 16 and 16 Plus?!?! They are not just pretty; they are tough too with the latest-generation Ceramic Shield front glass.  Which one is your favorite color?

Key Features

Super Retina XDR display

Next-generation portraits with Focus and Depth Control

Water resistant to a depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes

How cool is it that they are continuing to find ways to make Apple Watches thinner, more comfortable, and more stylish. All of that while making them more helpful and entertaining. Encouraging exercise and tracking sleep are things we’ve grown pretty used to, but Apple is always finding new ways to take it to the next level and this year they’re including things like a depth gauge and Sleep Apnea alerts that are expected to be available later this month.

Key Features

46mm or 42mm display options

Faster on-device Siri with health data access

The Sleep Apnea Notification Feature is pending FDA clearance and expected to be available later this month. The feature will be supported on Apple Watch Series 9 and later and Ultra 2. It is intended to detect signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea for people 18 years old or older without a diagnosis of sleep apnea.

There was a time when a JUMP order for the new model could be done online, can that be done this time around or do JUMP customers have to call in?

if you pre-order, how soon can you pick up the phone in store or expect the phone to be delivered

Anyone else having issues with the pre-order? Got through to the checkout, then the payment step declined with 3 different cards, then said they cannot verify my identity. This is after pages loading oddly. I’m not in queue to get a call back from customer service by the end of the day.

I cannot get a JUMP order processed (bill is $0 balance) and they don’t show the 16 Pro as a device I can JUMP to and they have no idea why. Has to be escalated and won’t hear back until next week so getting up at 4:45am was for nothing due to issues for the THIRD year in a row

Same. Payment won't process. Do they want our business??

I thought I was the only one...

Unable to process order, unable to verify identify. Multiple cards declined… Anyone else?

So I was just told my issues is THIS year JUMP is excluding upgrades to the 16 Pro and 16 MAX, which she said was intentional and has been limited. Also told the T&C’s say T-Mobile can limit the devices and it is within their right to do so…… I cannot believe yet again T-Mobile is changing the end user experience and expectations and zero advance notice. Not sure this is the company to stay with anymore after many years with them.

same and I tried on mobile app and I get an error stating there is an error with one of their systems.

If you go to the Apple store you can just order through them and they will apply the T mobile trade in offer

For my problem not being able to JUMP to the 16 Pro, I am assuming T-Mobile is trying to get customers off the “legacy” plan, and move to the Go5G Next to allow the upgrade. I am trying to confirm that now

I’m about to start a new thread for this, but it’ll take me a few minutes to type it out.

Attention all grandfathered JOD customers…

if you are trying to use JOD to upgrade to an iPhone 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max, you will need to use a standard upgrade with or without trade in, 24 month payment plan. Only the base iPhone 16 is available to JOD customers. I wish that I didn’t spend 2 hours on the chat feature to get that info, but I’m sharing it to save you all some time.

In previous years, I was always able to preorder a Pro model using JOD. This is a policy change.

However, after we finally figured out why only the base model was available to JOD customers, the customer rep immediately tried to sell me a 360 plan for $18/month which included among other things a different Jump plan, which will allow me to upgrade to a pro model in the future. I politely declined, and here is why.

These programs are offered at sole discretion of the carrier, and can change at any time. So, there is nothing stopping them from removing the “upgrade to Pro” option in the future.

So in a nutshell, you can preorder any of the Pro/Pro Max models, but not using JOD.

I would love to hear from T-Mobile as to why they’re doing this to their long time customers.

I hope that this saves time for some of you.

Yes, exactly. See my comment below.

If I pre-order iPhone 16 Pro, can I pick it up somewhere on 9.20 or will T-Mobile ship it to me on 9.20?

Does a lot of things right, and this isn’t a criticism of it so much as it is a criticism of Apple and all carriers. I ordered a phone on the 13th, that night. It showed delivery as 10/4-8, which is fine. But what we don’t get is information. How is it there are enough phones if ordered at 8 AM but one has to wait 3 weeks if ordered 10 hours later? I would guess that the vast majority of orders on the 13th are around 8 AM and then it trails off.

Some people say Apple does it deliberately to make it look like high demand. I’m not big on conspiracy theories.

The best way to handle this is to identify the phone and its location, including in China. I see some people follow the flights out of China because they have the IMEI number.
