I put my wifes working XS max iphone on facebook. Some kid came to pick it up but when my back was turned, he swiped it and ran off. It was wiped clean and doesn’t have a sim. I assume this thing is long gone and unrecoverable? Thanks in advance.

Report the phone as stolen to Tmobile and they can block it from being activated.

Was the phone unlocked? Do you have the IMEI? If locked and you do, file a police report, give a copy to T-Mobile and Apple, they might blacklist if so that it will be essentially worthless.
