Has anyone else noticed that T-Mobile’s coverage map is misleading and flat out wrong? Part of the reason we joined was due to their claim of having full coverage in a part of Wisconsin. First time we were there we had zero service through T-mobile, and we ended up on a AT&T network. That then treated our service as roaming and did not allow for us to use data. I proceeded to call T-mobile and they confirmed their map is wrong and they use a roaming partner (AT&T) there and “appreciated the feedback”. Despite that, they haven’t corrected the issue. Seems like a false claim T-Mobile should be held accountable for. Anyone else come across this? And did they report this to any regulatory authorities?
False Coverage Map

I supposedly live in a 5G UC area and I am lucky to have 2 bars of LTE, some days 1. Also, have 0 bars (no service whatsoever) where my brother-in-law and in-laws live despite both of those areas showing in a 5G area. Lastly, went camping on Saturday and it showed in a 5G area and had 0 bars, no service whatsoever. It’s bold-face lying on their part
Report them online on the FTC site I did this yesterday and got a call from an executive from T-Mobile today same BS lies that every other employee has fed to me I was actually told by a store employee years ago that their coverage map isn’t true they list areas before they have coverage
Listing coverage ‘before they deploy it’ is typical, and somewhat unethical. T-Mobile (and others) have done this for years. I.e. T-Mobile showed entire areas covered with 4g LTE extended range ‘verified’ +1 year before they deployed it in that area
Maps such as CellMapper (which are consumer crowd source generated) are more accurate in many areas.
I was with Verizon for over a decade and left cause got too expensive. I will say much cheaper with TMO however the service is noticeably worse. The weird thing is I will show full bars and 5G UC yet not have data. Games that use data and browsers will not work but phone acts like I should have the best coverage. Been pretty shady and guess we are going to give ATT a shot.

Coverage maps for all the major mobile phone companies are just marketing propaganda. They work on averages and are useless for a specific area. Coverage is always spotty depending on your location relative to the nearest cell tower.
Don't believe the map or the lies! After 7 months a knowledgeable technician stated" you will never get reliable service in your location". T-MOBILE has lied at all times since we signed up! Use the FCC speed test app..If you factually comment on their service, they will just remove and block you from their sites!
I spoke yesterday with ‘Michael’ from T-Mobile executive response team - 3rd one this year.
They basically repeat the same thing, which is also different from the Advanced Technical support (US and Philippines) as well as legacy engineers (haven’t spoken with in a long time).
Customer care + ERT/OEM claim ‘service’ but with caveat “we don’t guarantee service anywhere”.
Advanced Tech + Engineer = “Our internal maps show that area as a dead zone”
When sent for escallation (BBB , CPUC, FCC), response will be from ERT/OEM, polished in legalize stating “service exists, and if you don’t like it, we’ll port you”.

Post to BBB or, assuming you’re in Cali - CPUC. T-Mobile has a coming deadline with CPUC of 99% of California with 100Mbps service and 94% of rural California with 50Mbps of service before 2026.
I take issue with their coverage map, it is a joke. We are supposed to have 5G service at our home, I cant even get 1 bar outside…. I filed complaint on FCC coverage map site and it went no where. Tmo came back and said o yes we have coverage and that was the end of it. You will never win against corporations….

The coverage map is correct. They guarantee coverage but not a reliable connection. They know they have their corporate donors on their side, the politicians, so they don't care that they are providing subpar service and neither does the Government, whom are our elected neighbors receiving corporate donations.
Don't elect neighbors with corporate donors or political action committees behind them.

Actually..T-Mobile’s coverage map is ‘not’ accurrate. I’ve spoken with several ‘Advanced Technical Support’ from both US and overseas as well as some of their engineers (in the past when I could).
Engineers/Advanced Tech have different maps than what are posted for ‘consumer’ (read sales) use.
In areas that I have ‘No Service’ where T-Mobile’s consumer facing maps show 5G / 4G LTE, the Engineers / Advanced Tech teams state that there is ‘No Coverage’ outdoors in those areas.
I’ve had this as recent as June , and even from Executive Response Team / Office of Executive Management (as recent as yesterday!)
When T-Mobile knows that they have ‘No service’ in a specific area, yet openly claim it (for Customer care, and in written response with ERT being arm twisted by legal/sales) … you have a problem.
Even when given known address areas of known outdoor dead zones, T-Mobile will not correct their falsified information. I did have one rep in the Philippines fix one area with ‘No Service’ a few years back. T-Mobile reverted it after the merge.
Ironically … just before the merge (for ~4 months), T-Mobile did put a ‘more accurate’ coverage map.. only to have it painted Magenta with MS Paint shortly after the merge closed.
Also, there is a difference between ‘reliable connection’ or ‘any connection’ for +8 years, while increasing the coverage on their map. Note: Drive team even acknowledged this.
