Has t-mobile figured out a way to turn off/on data on a child’s phone. Family Mode is useless as it still allows a child to use data via mobile Hot Spot. If there is no way to do this, then it looks like I will have to switch back to Verizon. I was hoping not to have to do that.

If you have a post paid plan you can go to your MyTmobile account and in the line in questions select no data in the services on that line but you would have to manually turn them on again.
Keep in mind that the phone has wifi and can connect to other data sources.
