Due to some of my connected devices only working on 2.4Ghz wifi (Lifx light bulbs FYI), I had to split my Tmo Home Internet network into separate 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks, which the admin tool made simple!

Unfortunately, none of my Amazon Firesticks can “see” the 5 Ghz network when i scan. They only find the 2.4. Every other device can find them both, but not my fire sticks - both of which are within 15 feet of the router. These are the devices I MOST WANT to find the faster 5GHz network, cuz ya know- streaming.

I’ve read that if you change the 5GHZ WiFi channel to a channel between 36 to 48 or 149 to 165, the firestick should connect to it, but I cannot figure out how to do that. Is this possible or is their another solution?

Which gateway do you have, the Nokia or Arcadyan?

Set the Encryption for 5GHz to AES instead of auto.

Where do I do that? I don’t see any options in the admin site. the only changes i see to make with the networks are the password.

It’s in the Wireless Network Setup when you set up the device for the first time.

I don’t have the Arcadyan, but from what I’ve seen so far in the manual and screenprints, the Arcadyan is severely crippled in what options you have available.  Mainly, just splitting the GHz networks.

Unknown what firmware 1.00.14 may bring, in additional options.

There appears to be a backdoor method in reaching additional options, including encryption, explained here:

I decided to splurge on the ethernet adapter for the Fire stick.  Now I don’t have to worry about wi-fi competition.

If you’ve got ethernet as an option, I highly recommend it.

Z Mobile, I just set up my Firestick ethernet adapter and it's SLOWER on Speed Tests than WiFi. Did you have to change any settings? Thanks.

How fast is your LAN?  Mine’s gigabit and I’ve never even bothered to test speed ‘cause the picture and sound are just fine.  Didn’t change any settings -- DHCP took care of it all for me.
