Hello,This is my first post. Glad to meet everyone. I didn’t even know T-Mobile had a forum until I got the home internet and found how limited the gateways are and began searching for tips and tricks.I wanted to see if anyone had tried building their own modem. I have been running a IPFire firewall and router box for a while now since I had DSL. So why not use it for T-Mobile too? I don’t even know if it will work, but in theory I think it should. IPFire has a decent amount of options for connecting to a service.I would be using my computer that is currently running the firewall and router Adding a PCI-E M.2 adapter Attaching a 5g module to that adapter SIM card into the adapter Plug the Waveform antenna to the module Configure the “Red” adapter in IPFireIf this works, I should have no double NAT and many other features like DHCP address control, VPN, and Intrusion Prevention in one unit.It would be about $100 in parts I need to get so less than one of the pre-built 5G routers.O
IP Location issue
So apparently I cannot connect to sites that need to verify your location because my new tmobile internet service shows me as being located in a State that is different from my actual location.Been on hold for 50 mins to speak to someone, not sure if I will get anyone tonight and this is not looking good for customer service support that you don’t have a different number specifically for tech issues like this.
Has anyone had a problem with T-Mobile 5G Wifi where you have to reboot devices in order to reestablish internet connection. With my iPad I find on a regular basis that I have access to a site, exit the site and they come back shortly after to that site or another site any unable to connect. I have to reboot my iPad and they I am able to connect. I’ve also experienced on my MacBook Pro connection problems that are only resolved when I clear out my history, after which I connect without any problem.I switched several months ago from xfinity internet and never had this problem until T-mobile. My T-mobile router shows a strong Internet signal and my download/upload speeds, when connected, are more than adequate.

I recently upgraded from the silver Gateway to the new black one. The black one is an Arcadia KVD 21. You can find that information on the back of the black Gateway. I was able to reconnect all my alexa's, all my smart plugs, my blink security system, my ring doorbell, and my wireless printer. My Aladdin connect, garage door opener would not connect. After spending 3 days trying to get it to connect I finally reached someone at Genie Door Company, the manufacturer of Aladdin connect. They tell me that Aladdin connect will not work with the new T-Mobile Gateway model KVD 21. Anyone else had this problem?
How to handle lack of WPS button on new Home Internet Router
Hi, I got the new Home Internet Cylinder router. Pretty simple setup but the speeds are good and the price is right. I have a few devices I have always used WPS to connect. Some extenders and some indoor cameras. Can’t figure out how to do it now. I do not see a WPS button.Am I missing something? The interface is so simple but maybe it will get better with time. Thanks
VPN Issue on Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway
I found a lot of complains about the Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway with VPN. I have the same problem. My firmware version is SGJi10202-1.2.74.VPN does not work from my Windows PC, but it works with my iPhone and iPad!!!I found out that it could have something to do with the MTU packet size. This MTU value can be changed under Windows. Until now I didn’t have time to dig into this. Does anyone know how to do it and tested this? The firmware of the Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway is absolutely poor. I think everyone should contact T-Mobile and complain about this firmware. T-Mobile needs more pressure to enhance this black box.
smart tv connection to tmobile home internet
Tmobile home internet can't connect to my roku tv. It's visible. But it won't let me connect. I tried my new password, the admin password, and the wifi key. None of them work. When I turn my S21 ultra into a hotspot, that seems to connect just fine to my tv.
Beware the Equipment Return Gremlins
To the point:Packaged equipment per instructions and dropped off to UPS with pre-printed label.Equipment delivered to T-Mobile.Charge shows up months later for unreturned equipment. They will not resolve.A happy customer with a different service provider as of today for all personal and business lines, and waiting with all documentation and tracking info to have the negative entry removed from my credit report when it appears. This has happened to others here, so I advise caution to all when returning equipment. Keep all documentation and tracking numbers, as you may end up needing it to remove collection accounts because T-Mobile’ warehouse clowns lost your return. Or maybe warehouse gremlins ate it?So long, T-Mobile!
Why do my SharePoint links and files not open? (on T-Mobile 5G Home Internet)
I'm having issues with some Microsoft Office services, e.g., SharePoint and Teams files. Started around 2022-06-15.This is on my T-Mobile 5G Home Internet- Issue: Most of the times I try to open a SharePoint link (Excel, PowerPoint) in a browser (on my laptop, on my home network), it can't find the page. Sometimes after 3 refreshes (F5 button), I get the file, and sometimes not.- Issue: Sometimes when I try to open a MS Office file in a native app (Excel, PowerPoint), it tells me the login isn't working.- Issue: Often when I try to open the Files tab inside a team channel in the MS Teams app, it tells me it can’t connect.- Works well: On another network (same laptop, same apps, same account, but via the phone's hotspot or via a public WiFi).- Works well: On another device (same T-Mobile 5G home internet, but on my phone).- Works well: On another account (same laptop, same T-Mobile 5G home internet, but my personal Microsoft Office account).... This is surprisingly specific to my work l
Why is the Home Internet Gateway functionality crippled?
I have Arcadyan KVD21, and while I am thoroughly impressed with the speeds from the device on the T-Mobile 5G network, I am disgusted by the lack of any ability to properly manage & (more importantly) secure this device. This trade between speed and security is insulting and offensive to me as a technologically adept Security professional, and exacerbated by the fact that T-Mobile continues to fail when tasked with protecting user account PII data. The inability to perform certain key functions completely disappoints me. Below are the primary issues and concerns, which *MUST* be resolved to keep me as a customer:Cannot perform setup / administrative tasks via wired interface. Current (internal) web interface only offers a “basic” informational portal. Cannot completely disable (turn off) WiFi, (likely due to the above). What (few) administrative tasks that are available, requires: download & installation of a worthless “mobile app”, which also requires the device be connected to
Sagemcom Fast5688W USB-C port dead
Good day,I keep my T-Mobile Sagemcom gateway cool by using a nifty little two-fan setup, where the one on the bottom sucks in cool air and the one on top blows out warm air. The fans are connected to a USB-A plug; I have a USB-A to C adaptor and it has been working great. Today, by accident I checked and noticed the fans were not working. I swapped out adaptors with no luck. I plugged the USB-A cable into my Mac mini server and the fans work. Question - have you ever had the USB-C port go inoperative? Any suggestions besides swapping the gateway out for another one? Thanks in advance!
Internet Speed is fast, but download speed on PC is really slow
Hello everyone,I recently got T-Mobile home internet and I have been really impressed with the speed of the connection. However, I have noticed that my download speeds on my PC are a lot slower than what I was expecting. I download things at less than 1 MB/S, even though my internet has speeds up to 300. Anyone know what’s wrong and how I can fix this problem?
purchasing used 5g gateway for home internet
There are many kvd21 and other used tmobile gateways for sale on eBay. Are they legit to purchase and use with TM home internet?? We only use the service for a seasonal place and want to eliminate having to send back their gateway in the fall by purchasing our own.
