MESH EXTENDER

We are on our third mesh extender now.  Each extender has worked for a few days but then reverts to a solid white light with no connectivity.  The factory reset does nothing.  Cycling power does nothing.  The status light is solid white and the unit is a brick.  Any ideas?

@JDK292, Personally I use a Eero 6+ mesh wifi router. However, a few users point to setting up “extenders” with the T-life app: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/home-internet/app

From the T-Mobile website:

Can I still use my existing Wi-Fi router with a Mesh Wi-Fi system?

It depends on the specific Mesh Wi-Fi system you're using. Some systems require you to use their specific router, while others allow you to use your existing router or replace an existing router’s Wi-Fi network. You should check the product specifications before purchasing a Mesh Wi-Fi system to see if your existing router is compatible.

With the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Plus plan, the T-Mobile Wi-Fi Mesh Access Point is optimized for, and only compatible with, select T-Mobile 5G Gateways.

And a user made a suggestion about what to use: I use a Netgear EX2700 WiFi extender and can tell you it works perfectly with the T-Mobile Arcadyan KVD21 5G Gateway. It's inexpensive and works very well. It is much less expensive than many other solutions, and did I say that it works great?

So, it appears that you need to ensure you have a compatible extender.

Thanks for the feedback...the mesh extenders that I’ve tried have all been from T-mobile which is strange.

I'm on #3 and have only had their Internet since June 18. No way to remove extenders from acct, or add more than 3. After about 2 hours on the phone yesterday, they have 24 to manually remove mine from acct to try and reconnect #3. Not done yet. I called and ordered GFiber to replace this nonsense.

I'm on my 2nd mesh extender. I was on the phone for hours trying to fix the first one. Did all kinds of things but nothing worked. Mind you, these were things that i already did prior to calling as well, but even after i told them i already tried that they still had me do them all over again. After all that they told me to take it to the store to get a new one. When I went to the store they acted like they couldn't do it and like they didn't know what i was talking about. They did end up giving me a new one, but now it's out too. I tried to ignore it in hopes that it would reconnect on its own but no such luck. I already know tech support advice will not help reconnect. Based on the forums, looks like I'll need yet another one or I'll have to switch providers again. 😫

I don’t use any of the T-Mobile mesh extenders. I connect my own mesh network to their gateway via ethernet cable. That way no matter what internet provider I use, my wireless network is mine. Try eero on Amazon.

Thanks for the info. But I'm not spending my money to cover for their inefficient products  that repeatedly fail when it's part of service they offer/promote. I'm getting GFiber installed tomorrow.

I have had the same issues with T-Mobile's mesh system. And cannot remove them and therefore cannot add any news ones. They said a new gateway will solve it. 🤦🏻

Will the google nest work with the plus internet?

I already have these.
