TOld 5g internet was available and now told it's not available?
So, end of last year we were told 5g lite was available to us. As rural dsl users this was like coming out of the dark ages ;) For a month and a half it was glorious! Then we recevied a message saying 5g unlimted was now available, and they set us up on that plan. From that moment on our speeds have degraded nearly to the point of unusable. Finally, I’d had enough and contacted tech support who, anoungst other things, said how did you get 5g unlimited, it’s not available in your area. I said tmobile contacted US and said it was. I feel like this leaves me in a bad spot, how can I complain about bad service when they say 5g isn’t supposed to be for us?Heck, I’d almost go back to light except...if it’s not available in our area, surerly the light isn’t either?I should note all the tech support people have been awesome. Not perfect, but awesome!
Unexplained Skyrocket of 5G Home Internet Usage
I called T-Mobile support about this, but they really didn’t have any answers for me, so wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything like this. My TM 5G Home Internet usage skyrocketed without any change in our household’s usage behavior during this current billing cycle (May 2023). We have the Nokia 5G21 Gateway. In March we used 66.55 GB, April was 9.23 GB and May is 417.31 GB. I’ve checked all the devices connected to our home network and have been able to identify them all, so I don’t think anyone is tapping into our network. We aren’t experiencing any decrease in speeds or dropping of the network, so maybe I don’t have any reason to be concern, the jump in data usage was just alarming, since we only really web browse, stream video and connect smart home devices. We don’t do anything that would send massive data outwards, either. A few things I noticed in my usage reports over the last few months was the number of reports jumping from 8 in March and 1 in April to over 3,0
Streaming network stations on TV
We have TMobile for our phones and internet access and have no problems or delays with our two cell phones or laptop. However, there are frequent interruptions when watching or recording programs on network TV. We subscribe to Hulu for both movie streaming (of which we have no problems) and network stations. Is the hotspot that TMobile offers for $3.75 a month for 24 months useful for improving connections for streaming TV or primarily for cell phone coverage?
Restart router daily?
For my t-mobile home internet, I have to restart the router daily otherwise I drag down from 80+ mbps to something like 20mbps. Are better routers coming out? Am I the only one this is happening to? I have called support before on this and they just have me reboot or reset the router but it eventually comes back. I tried an Alexa plug but it needs internet to start back up. Doh!
TMHI Gateways are dropping cellular connections randomly since 2 days ago. WIDESPREAD system issue needs support to fix!
TMO support does not think there is anything wrong. There are widespread reports of gateways (mostly Nokia) that JUST started randomly dropping the cellular connection 2 days ago. This is not solved by putting a fan on it, replacing the power supply, or other non-helpful solutions. This is 100% an TMO issue and if not addressed, there will be a mass exodus to other providers.TMO SUPPORT - PLEASE escalate and get this fixed, your phone support folks are clueless.
Please help me find the signal
Hello, I have a Samsung 21u mobile phone, not here before the transport signal has been good, after a period of time I found that the signal changed, My phone I can not use the sim card, this is too sad, I do not know what is the problem, can you help me unlock it? My device imei is 356544764096084. I would be very grateful.
tmobile home internet keeps disconnecting
I’ve hade the T-Mobile home internet since may of this year and has been working good until this week where there internet keeps disconnecting and saying no signal then it pops up again and last a couple mins up and disconnects again, I have restarted the router and also reset the router and still the same thing happens. Is anyone else having this problem as well?
This is why Bridge/Passthrough is not an option.
We all want configurability, passthrough/ bridge mode to use our own routers avoiding the dreaded double NAT that can effect network performance. The problem is not with T-mobiles gateway’s. It has to do with the network. All of the home and business gateways don't get their own public IP address. Users in an area are sharing one public IP address. Unless T-Mobile will allow for static IP addresses is why these gateways have limited configuration options. Im not sure if its an option. I haven't called tech support to ask if a static IP is available. This is why you will see slow downs at peak usage times. In layman's terms, picture 10 devices on your home network all streaming 4K video with a 150 MBPS connection, it can't handle that much bandwidth. Same goes for the T-mobile home internet modem/router but the problem is your sharing the connection with multiple Home internet customers. If you have a cable, fiber or a DSL connection you do in fact get your own public IP address. Cable
A LOT of T-Mobile ID issues as a Home Internet customer
I’ve been dealing with this for several hours now, so forgive the rant…It seems that T-Mobile has no concept of Home Internet users not having a T-Mobile phone. I don’t know why that is so hard to understand. However, if you only have Home Internet, and not phone, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get a working T-Mobile ID. The form to create one will tell you your email is wrong when it’s not. In the forums I found a message saying to just create a forum account then link your phone number, so I tried that and when I log in it won’t let me do anything without linking my phone number, but entering my phone number gives me a Service Unavailable error. So, I used the online support chat to try to get this resolved. The first person was completely clueless and told me I had to call customer service. Not sure what the point of the online chat is if they’re just going to tell you to call. So then I call, sit on hold for a VERY long time, and then hung up. For some reason, when you call the Home Internet su
5G Home internet keeps dropping!
I've had 5G home internet service for about two months, after two weeks it started acting up. For about five times a day all my devices connected to the Arcadyan KVD21 gateway lose internet yet stay connected to wifi, I've tried everything! Do I need to replace my gateway? Very frustrating.
Home Internet Static IP
Is it possible to get a static IP with the 5G Home Internet service? Normally I wouldn’t need it but since my connection dies at least once a week I get a new IP every time my modem reboots. I work from home and whenever my IP changes I have to update some of my clients’ firewalls.
5G Home Internet Gateway incredibly slowwwwww......
I just received the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Gateway and can’t wait to return it to a local store. Upload and download speeds reached (*measued at intervals within a 24-hour period), as compared to what is advertised, was in fact, so far off it was a joke.Did the reset a few times, removed the SIM card and placed it back in. Noteworthy, I have a 5G tower a short distance away from me directly to the North and the signal strength on the gateway, no matter where I placed it in my two-story house, showed good to very good signal from the 5G tower. The signal from the gateway was always excellent, no matter where I moved my main laptop around in my house.Just an example on how bad (low) the speeds were was single digit Mbps average up and down and a few times there was no upload speed registering and one time the download speed was in the, UGH, Kbps. One test exhibited a much higher upload than download speed.Maybe I got a defective unit or perhaps there are some serious problems going on
Home Internet Disconnecting Idle Devices
I've read through many of the posts on here and I'm not seeing a real answer to this.I'm new to T-Mobile Home Internet but have many years experience in IT.I have a Samsung TV, multiple Amazon echo devices, Amazon fire TV stick, many smart light bulbs, plus my Moto 5G phone all connected.Devices seem to randomly get disconnected from the Internet and I have to reset them to refresh the connection. Most of the time it seems to be when devices are idle like the Amazon echo when not in use. However, my phone will randomly disconnect while I'm using it and I have to reset the Wi-Fi on my phone. It's not an overheating issue like many posts say. The unit has a very cool temp. As far as signal goes, I'm getting over 250mb download speed with 3 out of 5 bars. When my TV is connected I have no issues streaming high def movies. It's also not tower maintenance. That's a standard blanket excuse for when they have no answer for you. So I'm wondering if there's a back end SSL route or admin GUI to b
Home internet modem keeps powering down and restarting
So, we had the Tmobile modem(the 5g tower... black box) for a few weeks now... worked great at first but now it continues to shut down every few minutes and restart. If it does it long enough I have to completely redo the setup on the app. Has anyone ever had this happen?
