Home internet: devices connect to network but no internet

I know there are posts already but I can't seem to figure out the best solution. I've been using the Gateway now for a few weeks and have since needed to turn off/on the tower multiple times because my connected devices say "no internet" when connected. Just the past 2 mornings alone there have been connection issues. I already have a weak connection no matter where the tower is placed which is frustrating. I want to continue to use TMobile's Home Internet but I'm losing patience with the inconsistency and unreliable service. (Not to mention the app to check is worthless if you aren't connected to the Wi-Fi)How can I fix this problem?

Remote reset and network drop

We are new T-Mobile internet gateway customers.  We are experiencing drop-off of our internet (wireless) even when our new (Nokia) gateway is showing connectivity.  Only action to fix, so far, is to reset by power-off/power-on. Thats fine if we are home.Is there a remote reset procedure for the Nokia gateway that can accomplish this in case we are on the road and the network drops offline?  Important because our furnace and security systems are running through this network.

T mobile tech support is just incredible

I had to call 4 times today (all to 844-275-9310) with my new 5G Gateway.First call at 12:01 (22 min) because my new gateway wont connect despite of my cell phone saying it was “activated” (and only after like 12 times).  The guy never tried to activate my new sim but told me to move the old sim card from LTE to the new one and it worked… for 3 hours. I called again at 3:59 (16 min) and the lady says I should move the new sim card back to the new gateway which I did not want to do. She then, instead of activating my gateway SIM, inactivated my cell phone! My call was dropped in the middle with my phone saying “sim card not found”. I tried rebooting my phone, reinserting my sim card and no help.  I swapped the sim cards between the new and old gateway and neither would work. It appears someone inactivated my old wifi sim card after 3 hours of use and new one was not yet fully activated (despite the phone app saying it was). had to call again using my wife’s cell (imaging if I donot have

VPN throttling on Home internet

Is there any VPN throttling on home internet? My internet speed with home internet is really good, but it just shows 1Mbps or less with vpn connected. We tested with a different wifi and the VPN speed is reasonable with other networks. Any guidance on what can be done?

Home internet "connected without internet"

I got my 5G gateway in the mail. I set it up, everything looks good, but I can’t get internet connection. All my devices connected to the gateway are showing the same message “connected without internet”.

When can I JUST use TM internet modem as ONLY a modem, in BRIDGE mode, with NO NAT, NO firewall, and frankly NO Wifi.

PLEASE let me know when can get a PLAIN modem from T-Mobile, or BUY my own modem, or SET their modem up to DUPLICATE the functionality of Spectrum.   I can’t and won’t change, until and unless I can get that kind of service.  Frankly, I am shocked that TM didn’t spec that into their design.  Instead, based on about a 20 minute search, that is IMPOSSIBLE today…  and here are just a few of the problems that will prevent me from even considering TM:There’s NO bridge mode --- This means I CAN NEVER treat TM device like my Spectrum cable modem, and treat it JUST like a modem. Since I can’t treat it as just another modem, I have to REDO and RETHINK, and REDESIGN my whole network, to adopt to their design -- This is NOT going to happen! No Bridge means that I’m limited to whatever they designed into their modem, to provide services like DHCP, NAT, port forwarding, DNS, ETC. Since their software UI is the only way I can provide services I depend on, then unless they perfected their software, t

When will firmware for the Nokia 5G home router be updated to add true router functionality?

As everyone who’s slight more advanced at configuration home routers and has migrated to T-Mobile’s 5G Home internet with the Nokia modem, the configuration is more of a modem and not a home router. I would like to open external ports and direct them do specific IP addresses and ports. Hell, I’d like to be able to change the private subnet address range or have multiple private subnets using 802.1q for different classes of devices in my home… Even better, if TMobile Nokia 5G Home internet is a modem… that just make it modem with a single WAN address assigned and I can use my home router to do everything else. Is this coming? Is TMobile going to serve needs of advanced (sort of) users? It’s a great, fast, reliable service for me, just which the made the solution whole.

My Gateway doesn't seem to require a password

I have set up my new Gateway with a password and an Admin password. Neither seem to be required when others try to login to my internet network. Any suggestions for how to verify and correct this issue?

Upload speeds much faster than download speeds

So I recently switched to T-Mobile Home internet since it advertises good speeds and no data caps. When I first set up the gateway, I was shocked. Speeds were blazing fast. I was consistently getting speeds between 70mbps and 170mbps. This went on for roughly 6 weeks, and then the service became completely unusable. Speeds were consistently below 1mbps and on a good day I could make it into the teens. I called customer support just about every day trying to sort things out, but got nowhere. I finally got a call from an engineer who said, "I should expect varying speeds based on my location" and closed out my case. Not a single person can tell me why everything worked so well but then tanked. I then called and had them send me a new gateway device. I set it up and speeds were again in the 60-100 range for about 2 days, and then went back to being unusable. I then started to notice that most tests showed my upload speeds to be significantly higher than my download. I also set up a fan to

Requested Feature: Ability to port forward etc.

Some of us need this feature to be able to port forward from the 5g (trashcan) modem/router. Also any type of interface that would allow us to change some settings with PnP as well.

I am trying to reset my wifi password but when I use the tmobile internet app it doesn’t give me a “Forgot password’ option like everthing I have read says it should… any ideas?

Connecting T-Mobile home internet and my wifi mesh mesh network

I currently have Asus GT-Ax11000 wifi router with 2 Asus Zen Wifi mesh nodes connected to a cable modem.  I’ve set up the T-Mobile home network unit and it gets decent speeds 250-270 Mbps.  Can I unplug my Asus router’s ethernet cable  from the cable modem and plug into the T-Mobile unit and reset the system?  Or do I need to reconfigure the Asus mesh system?  Can the T-mobile wifi be turned off and simply feed from the ethernet port?

Any way to disable 5G connection on router?

Our connection is periodically (and lately, continually) unusable, with download speeds in the 0.2 to 0.8 mps range. We’re not sure if this is due to being deprioritized due to load on the system (it was awfully suspicious that it happened on the dot at 0800 this morning) or just T-Mobile having issues with their towers here.  We’ve called support repeatedly and they unfortunately are very little help.We’ve noticed the same with our T-Mobile phones - but when switching to a 4G LTE connection, download speeds increase to 40-60mps. While not at our usual 400-500mps 5G speeds, this is at least usable.Unfortunately, using a mobile hotspot for our home connection is not a workable long term solution, as we quickly use up our data allotment and are clamped at 2G speeds (which is even worse).Ideally, we would like to be able to not connect using the 5g band when necessary so that we can at least have a working internet connection (0.8 mps downstream shared between 2 people working from home a

T-Mo gateway connection type for TP-Link Deco S4 mesh system

I will be receiving a 3-pack TP-Link Deco S4 mesh system tomorrow. When I use Deco phone app during setup, I need to enter gateway connection type. The choices are:dynamic ip, static ip, PPPoE, L2TP, PPTP, Ds-Lite.I don’t want to enter the wrong code. Anybody has any idea? Currently, I am using a TP-Link range extender. TP-Link app did not ask this during extender installation.I checked the gateway user guide. There is no explanation unless I missed it.Thank you.

NAT (Forwarding) in T-Mobile Gateway

I recently signed up for T-Mobile internet, and I am VERY disappointed that I could not even forward NAT traffic to my home security system.   I saw that this was discussed 7 months ago in a previous thread, and hope the developers will notice this.  The speed is great, and the same as was advertised in the chat.I would like this issue to be resolved so that I don’t need to continue with Optimum (Morris Broadband).

Asus AX86U and T-mobile 5G Gateway

Hello. I recently signed up for T-Mobile home internet with the 5G Gateway (made by Nokia). I am using my ASUS AX86U router in conjunction with the Gateway (in Wireless Router mode). The router connects to the gateway no problem and obtains an IP address. My devices are connecting fine to the router via both wired and wireless connection. The main issue is with the wireless on the router. It is very slow. When I try to stream Netflix or Amazon Prime video, it buffers forever and sometimes errors out. I don't have any issues using my devices which are wired to the router. If I connect my wireless devices directly to the WiFi on the T-Mobile gateway, everything works fine. When I had Comcast internet, I had no problems with the WiFi on the AX86U. I've tried manually assigning the 2.4 and 5GHz channels on both devices to make sure they are not using similar channels. I've also tried disabling the WiFi on the gateway all together, but I'm still having the same issues with WiFi through my r

What's the best type of Ethernet cable to use with T-Mobile 5G Home Internet?

I’m a new T-Mobile 5G Home Internet customer and I’d like to connect my desktop PC directly to the modem by Ethernet cable and the included one is far too short.  What's the best type of cable to use with the current modem for optimal speeds?  CAT5e?  CAT6?  I assume something like CAT8 would be overkill.

Has anyone else needed their internet gateway replaced?

(I apologize in advance for the novel. I rarely use forums, but figured I’d try this out!) So about an hour and a half ago, I noticed the wifi was down. I checked my gateway, and saw that it had kicked off every device in my house. I did the “troubleshooting” via the site, but to no avail. 😭 Then I called customer service for the home internet. After 30 more mins of troubleshooting, the customer service guy told me to factory reset it, via the lil button above the Ethernet cable port. Did that, and then the gateway started acting wonky, and would not stay on. I’d have to hold in the on/off switch, for it to boot back up. Though when I’d release the switch, it’d just turn back off. So the customer service guy concluded that it’s not my surrounding cell towers, it’s the gateway itself that needs replaced.I will add, that, of course AFTER I got off of the phone, I was fiddling with the gateway more; and got it to turn on. At first it had my SSID I assigned it, and my phone connected auto

Eero WiFi Mesh System

I just received the new Tmobile 5g Gateway and I understand its a router as well.  How does one go about disabling the router capabilities and allow de Eero Mesh System to act as the main router?  I tried contacting the Tmobile Wifi Customer Care with the Eero support team and it was a long 2 hour conversation with no resolution?   We asked if we could speak to the TMobile Network Engineers and they said it was not possible?  Has anyone experienced this issue and can help out?   Who can I contact to get this resolved?What is the best way to setup with an Eero Mesh System?  Help

how to improve signal and speed on home internet¿

I'm only getting about 25 to 45 Mbps down and similar up. I keep seeing people get in the 200s down! How can I get those kind of speeds? I'm not very far from a tower and I've tried the Nokia Gateway all over the house!
