Peacock not working on T-Mobile Home Internet

I got T-Mobile Home Internet a few days ago and after doing some testing I found out that the Peacock app on my Vizio TV doesn't work when using T-Mobile. If I switch back to my Spectrum internet it works fine. Is this a known issue? Is anyone else having similar issues? By the way I'm not using Peacock for live TV, just to watch olld Office episodes.

Citrix Workspace app issues

I have seen that T-Mobile Home Internet and Citrix workspace app does not play well together. Latency is on the higher side on the Home internet and Citrix freezes. This has been a real pain while working from home. I hope the upgraded 5G home internet device resolves this issue.

Will Latency Improve as the Service Matures?

Obviously there is a limit to how good latency can be with a wireless signal like T-Mobile Home Internet is using, but I’m just wondering if it is expected to mature over time. I’m a big gamer and I’ve been tolerating the ping because my only other internet option has much better ping but a tiny fraction of the speed. Lately however, I don’t know if it’s the spring leaves coming back on the trees or what--it’s been getting noticeably worse. It used to be a consistent 80ms in Overwatch, my favorite title, but now its more like 105-120ms with spikes to 300ms. It’s making it very difficult and I’m questioning whether I can continue using the service.I have the white box router Model: RTL 0102.My signal is only “Good” but I haven’t found any place in my house where it can be improved further.

Latest Gateway Firmware Discussion

Seems like for the NOK 5g21 gateway, as of today, the firmware number is 1.2003.03.0168.If and when a newer version is released, please provide the version that is out.Thanks!

TMobile Home Internet causes phones to not work

I have just recently started using TMobile Home Internet (the 5G Nokia device that looks like a tall coffee can). When the device is plugged in, our TMobile phones (multiple versions of iPhones) lose about half of their signal strength - and calls end up going to voicemail. Plus text messages (SMS) do not send (get errors).If we turn off the Home Internet device, signals return to normal and everything works again.We have had 3 of these devices - and the behavior was observed on all three. (The first one had a broken power button and I had to hold down the button to get it to work. When I got it working - I noticed the problem immediately. The second device had an issue with the SIM activation, but even without an active SIM we still noted the same issue. The third device is in service right now - same problem.)NOTE: we only have about 2-bars of signal at our house (even the Nokia 5G device has only 2-bars), so this drop in signal to our phones is sufficient to take us out of service.

Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System

On the new grey 5G home internet box, when you connect to its web page (typically http://192.168.12.1/), on the Overview screen, under the Devices panel, one of the items listed is “Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System”, just above “Wireless” and “Ethenet”. This implies a third way of networking devices (it currently says 0 connected). I have a Deco Wi-Fi 6 mesh router and was wondering if they could be interconnected by something other than an ethnet cable. Is this something that is currently implemented or is it just a planned feature for a future expansion?On their product page (https://www.t-mobile.com/isp/gateway) where it lists device features, it also says “Mesh expandable    Yes”, but I haven’t found any details about this in the documentation.

home internet not showing on tv

So I have my internet device right next to my Westinghouse roku tv but the network isn’t showing up on the tv and I’m not sure if it’s the WiFi or the tv itself. Any ideas? I’ve done all the restarts and stuff with my tv

5G Home Internet: IPV6 with Asus RT-AC68U

Does anyone have IPV6 working with the T-Mobile 5G gateway feeding packets to an Asus RT-AC68U router?I do have this working for IPV4, caveats on double NAT notwithstanding.Can’t seem to get IPV6 configured properly on the RT-AC68U. “Native” mode doesn’t work at all. “Passthrough” sort of works (devices get addresses via SLAAC) at first, but blows up due to a MTU issue (router bug?).If you have it working please share how you configured it and what your firmware revision is. Many thanks.

Home internet and DirecTV

Just received my T-mobile home interenet yesterday (gray cylinder). Set up was easy and it’s super fast on all my mobile devices, the problem is the network isn’t even appearing as an option when I try to connect my DirecTV receiver wirelessly. Looking for anyone who experienced a similar issue and found a way to make it work,

Port Forwarding on Home Internet

From what I understand: Does the 5G home internet service not accept port forwarding options? If so, this doesn't make it home internet, it is merely a very advanced hot spot. I can neither work from home (as my VPN is not a commercial product that can be configured) nore play multiplayer games with friends. Both of which are deal breakers for the service. I was hoping for an alternative to the only cable company here, but this is an incomplete service that I can't even use for work. I already called customer service and received the same answers, and so my only hope (other than returning to the other company) is that there is word of this changing in the *near* future. Yet I see this has been a complaint of others for 2 months already.

How to improve speed?

We were told we would get 750-1 gig internet. We only get around 300. Is there any configuration we could do to improve it? I have moved it around the house.

Home Internet Static IP

Is it possible to get a static IP with the 5G Home Internet service?  Normally I wouldn’t need it but since my connection dies at least once a week I get a new IP every time my modem reboots.  I work from home and whenever my IP changes I have to update some of my clients’ firewalls.

Locating Cell Towers - Has the process changed?

Previously I used the CGI number from the Cell Tower Connection Metrics in the Home Internet App to located my tower on Cellmapper. (drop the first six digits (i.e. 310260) and divide the remaining by 256.) Doing this with a current CGI number  I find a tower in Florida while I am in the midwest. Is this changing with the update of the towers to support 5g?

Severe deprioritization on Home Internet?

Hello,I have been trying for about 2 weeks to make the T-Mobile home internet work for me. I live in a more rural/sparsely populated area of northern CA (Mendocino County, north of  the Ukiah area). When I signed up, T-mobile said I should have good 4G LTE coverage in my area and I have used cell internet with another provider through ATT network with good success in the past (30-80 Mbps download, 20-30 Mbps upload at all times).With the t-mobile 5g nokia grey router from about 12am-6am I easily obtain 30-40 Mpbs download speeds and 10-20 Mbps upoload, which is plenty good enough for me. Unfortunately, during the day this crawls to 0.5-1.5 Mbps download and 2-3 Mbps upload. This happens routinely, every single day/night.Towers are within 1-2 miles from my home and signal strength is 2-3 bars consistently when this happens. The signal strength at night is the same as during the day, so I have ruled out that having anything to do with the variation in speeds.I have a hard time believing

YouTube TV discount is only for 1 year???

The T-Mobile announcement about switching to YouTube TV service mentions $10/month discount as long as you are a T-Mobile subscriber; however when I log into T-Mobile and taken to YouTube TV to sign up the promo code provided for sign up is a limited time discount for 12 months. Seems to be false claims. From the T-Mobile announcement …“just for our customers, and they’ll get that discount for as long as they’re a T-Mobile subscriber, “… Doesn’t really seem to be the case, what is going on?

USB "C" port

What is the purpose of the USB c port in the 5g home internet gateway? When I ordered my 5g Home internet the Gateway came with a USB c port in the back. Also when I placed the order, the Customer Service Person told me I had to have an external battery but didn’t explain what it is for. I was charged $21 for the battery, which I received before I received my Gateway. Now I’m really confused as to the purpose of the battery and the non-functional USB “C” port.

Tmobile home internet and Zscaler

Recently my company switched to ZScaler for VPN/Firewall services.  They have had some internal issues however it appears Zscaler and T-Mobile internet aren’t agreeing.  When on my home network my download speeds get reduced to .1-.3 Mbps, while other devices such as cell phones and personal computers see 20-40 Mbps.  I was curious if anyone else has seen this issue, otherwise I love the T mobile service in my area (rurual), however I need to have working internet to complete my job when at the house.

double nat on console home internet

I’m on an Xbox series x wired directly to the modem. My download speed is fine but I can’t get my NAT type from strict to open. The Xbox says this is because of double nat. Is there any way I can get rid of the double nat?

Download speed

Home internet was told I would be in 5G coverage area but map only shows 4G. Modem shows 4 signal bars. When I reboot modem I get download speeds up to about 62 meg. After about 5 or 6  minutes it drops to anywhere from 8 to 15. Is there possibly something wrong with the modem? Has been this way since I got it about a month ago.

Home Internet No 5G connection - Shunts me to poor 4G band

I was sold this home internet based upon “Excellent 5G signal strength” where I live, and promise of 50+Mbps.  I’ve had the unit for a couple weeks.Secondary connection (5G) never connects.  Is a special SIM card needed to get 5G?Primary connection cant be locked, and it initially connects to band B12 (5 bars) when rebooted, then quickly changes to band B4/B66 which have terrible (2 bars).  Tech support has been less than helpful.  I knew more than the first rep, then second rep said my tower was being upgraded and would be finished March 21.  The 21st came and no change.My other provider uses the T-Mo network, and I can lock to 4G band B12 with excellent signal strength and get around 15Mbps.  Dont understand why T-Mo boots me to a band with poor signal strength and abysmal speed.

DNS Blocking on T-Mobile Gateway, Gateway Refuses to Accept Connection

Have been having issues lately and did some deep trouble-shooting today.All the usual trouble shooting, restart reboot gate way, reboot router, reset gateway, reset router, unplug devices, etc…Found the issue was the gateway kept reporting it was connected but the router which is wired directly to the gateway said there was no connection.I normally use an alternative dns provider for everything, as the ISP provided dns is slow and insecure subject to dns jacking.As soon as I switch the router to use the ISP Provided dns from the gateway it connected perfectly, devices that were manually configured with the alternative dns on their interfaces still couldn’t connect though.Switching these devices to the ISP Provided dns solved their issue as well.Only thing that is working with the alternative dns without issue is the Secure DNS protocol which appears to be immune to what ever is going on with the t-mobile ISP. I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature in t-mobile’s book or this is due

Found a Workaround for Co-Op/Online PC Gaming

So, after doing some testing I might have found a way to play online/co-op games for the PC. We all know that for some godforsaken reason the way T-Mobile has their networking forced all through IPv6 breaks PnP, which in turn basically breaks all lobby-based co-op games. Things like the new PC game Outriders will just not connect when you try to get into a co-op match, period. Well, after testing out a few VPNs I was able to find one that worked fixed that issue. Surfshark is what I have been testing all day today and so far every game I was having issues with is now working just fine. It is $12 something a month though which is kinda bs considering we shouldn’t have to resort to something like this just to make our service from T-Mobile usable. Unfortunately at the moment, this seems to be the only option we have though as gamers.Next, I will start testing out live streaming to see if this will work as well with my Twitch channel. I will let you all know how that works. Hopefully, TM
