T-Mobile NOK 5G21 Gateway and SSH/PuTTY

I hooked up the T-Mobile NOK 5G21 (Gray Cylinder/ “trash can”) gateway, loaded the most recent firmware, and all was going relatively smoothly until someone in my family tried to use SSH/PuTTY. After having established a connection/session, about 5 minutes later, he saw a dialog pop up with a title that said “PuTTY Fatal Error” and a message that said “Network Error: Software caused connection abort”. He had been using Spectrum service through a Netgear R8000P router with no problems. Has anyone had similar issues or does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Gateway static IP

I just got the 5G Gateway.  There appears to be no way to control IP addresses assigned to the devices accessing the internet through the Gateway, therefore each time it is rebooted the IP address for any given device is likely to change.  I have a WiFi enabled music hard drive that is accessed by a couple amplifiers in different rooms to play music from my stored collection.  The access requires a consistent IP address.  Until T-Mobile expands the user interface control to include defining static IP addresses for specific devices, I can not use the built-in router function.  Fortunately you can hardwire an external router that has this function, like any of the Netgear routers.  Unfortunately, the speed of service drops with this approach.  It is still good, but not as good as it should be - dropping from 436MBps to 154MBps.  It’s still a lot better than the speeds I had with CenturyLink, but I would like to see T-Mobile upgrade their app to allow this IP address control.  Others have

Home Intenet. Has anyone found a way to get competent support?

Has anyone found a way to access technical support and get past the Level 1 folks?I’m getting very erratic connection speeds and occasional drops.I’m showing 3 bars of signal strength, but support has been unable to provide any meaningful diagnostic informationThe T-Mobile router is giving me DHCP leases as short as 1 hourIt’s more than very painful to attempt to explain why this is not a good idea on the private networkThanks all

Security level with Ethernet connection, 5G21 Gateway

-Using ethernet cable connections to 5G21 Gateway from 2 Mac Minis, at System Prefs > Network (NtWk) > Advanced> 802.1x tab, it states for the newer Mini NO User Profile, only a box at bottom checked  for "Automatic Connection".   While the older Mini's NtWk> 802.1x> states "WPA: and my SSID name" for that gateway I'd like to know if that is WPA2-PSK (Personal) or WPA3-PSK (Personal), or the oldest version of WPA?  How can I learn this info?- Plus for the newer Mini can one create/add a profile requesting WPA2-SSID or WPA3-SSID?  Could one also add a profile for the older Mini using WPA2-Persoanal (PSK)?

Return defective modem

i have a defective modem that i need to send back to T-Mobile. when the replacement came there was not return label in the box. when i called T-Mobile i was shuffled around and finally told that a new return label would be emailed to me. Never happened. Anyone know where to call or send the modem back - it has shown up as a charge on my bill.

how to get back to “normal” speeds?

For the last 12 months we’ve had pretty OK speeds with T-Mobile home internet - enough for two people to work from home. Never “great” (I.e., any thing over 20 mbs) but enough to get by. About two weeks back out internet basically became inoperable. Most days we’re lucky to break above 1 mbs. I’ve spend hours on the phone with their idiot techs and have had two new gateways sent to me but with no change. No one can explain what happened in the last two weeks to explain what happened not offer and solution. Oddly, the data on my cell phone works fine while the gateway is shit. Anyone else in northern Virginia having similar issues? I feel like the 5g rollout has totally screwed us over.

Home internet gateway has no router functions?

I just received the latest gateway and as far as I can tell, it has NO router functions.Specifically, there is no way to change its IP address. Which means unless your local addresses are 192.168.12.x,you must change all of them to ..12.x!On the admin page, there is NO advanced tab where you could do whole bunch of router-related parametersincluding disable wifi radios and importantly, change its local IP address to match your LAN setup.Unless I learn otherwise, this brick (actually black tall tower, not cylinder) is going back home.Please advise...

I have T mobile 5G internet. How do I add the Ooma landline service?

I have 5G Internet service with T-Mobile. I want to convert my landline service to T Mobile. It’s currently on another internet provider. I see there’s a tel port on my Gateway device. I can’t find a link on my account pages and I’ve been on hold with T-Mobile support for over half-hour.When I first signed up, I saw a special offer for Ooma through T-Mobile.  Can anyone direct me to that?

why is my T-mobile home internet so unstable

I got the home internet 55 a month service and i use it to work from home. well 4-10 times a day im restarting the gateway because the speed drops to slower then 3G when its supposed to be 5G at all times a restart fixes it for an indefinite amount of time.’ is there any reason for this or is it just because its based off a cellphone style infastructure

So I travel alot and have a couple different apps that connect to my pc that allow me to remote in. Previous isps never had any issues. With T-Mobile 5G home internet they always fail with connecting. However if I turn on my VPN it works but is laggy. Has anyone else had this or any solutions?

Arcadyan KVD21 Initial Setup

I started with Tmobile internet using the Askey TM-RTL0102, upgraded to the 5G Nokia FG-21, an yesterday received the new Arcadyan KVD21 gateway.   Setup of the KVD21 is pretty straight forward but there are a couple odd niggles for the average user. Start by taking a photo of the amei, admin & login passwords on the side of the unit. Next pull out the rubber plug to expose the SIM card. Remove and take a clear close up photo of the numbers, re-install the SIM card. If you’re upgrading, plug in the KVD21 and place next to your current gateway. Go to WiFi settings on your phone, log into the new network TMobile-7BC7 using the password from your photo. Open the T-Mobile Internet app, log in with the admin password from your photo. Follow the instructions to setup a new gateway.  You can skip the gateway placement tutorial  and password changes to speed-up the process.  There is a barcode you scan on the side of the unit.  Time to call T-Mobile Home Internet 844-275-9310.  I called at

Does anyone else’s T-Mobile home internet cut off at some point each day? Ours does at least once sometimes twice daily. It is frustrating.

Good Afternoon :)Quick question to my below Tmobile people. I have Verizon home Internet and i want to switch to T-mobile Home Internet but Verizon is charging me for the box even though i used it for 3 months. about $200. How do i know which device is connected to the internet

I have 11 devices connected to the internet, i want to disconnect them from the app but it doesn’t tell me an exact device name for example it gives me “Device (2B00) on one of them, which I have no idea what that would be, is there a way to know an exact name of the devices that are connected to the internet?

I am trying to connect my Ring doorbell, Wyze cams, and child monitors they say I need the 2.4ghz connections. how can I get these connected I tried to call tech support twice now the second time the claim I am not able to split my connection even though it shows on the access portal on the computer. any one else having similar issues
