I had a bunch of in-game credits saved up so I purchased the skins that I wanted. I usually jus buy loot-boxes for events if I feel I don't have enough time but I did not do that this go around. Main reason being my Vegas trip. Plus the new League skins have been the ones I have made use of on my main 3 characters.

Ugh, I am the worst at spending my in game credits. I get very like "but what if I NEED this for something else..." and then I just end up hoarding them. It's the same thing with ether in Final Fantasy games 😑 I'm a monster.

I have only had the chance to play final Final Fantasy 7 so I am not to familiar with the intricacies of the system. I also tend to save up my credits but then I realized it was silly to do if there was a skin I really want like the McCree one.

I have an apple MacBook gaming is ok!

Hey @tmo_chris - Late to the party here...PC games for me!   I never could get the hang of the controllers on Xbox or PS...for me a mouse and WASD are all I need.

Nice setup @tmo_chris!

Wow man I am impressed by the I9 but I believe for gaming it is a bit overkill and may even be worse at the moment due to poor optimization from many devs for many cores.  I also rock the 1080. I wanted to ask if your memory was in a quad channel config and if your motherboard supported that?

Userlevel 3

Hi @dragon1562 -  RAM is Quad Channel DDR4 3200 CAS14

The i9 is a nice CPU - a bit overkill, but I wanted a CPU that would last for a while.   It has turbo up to 4.5Ghz on up to 2 cores, which does pretty well in games.  Also, it will run all 10 cores at 4.0Ghz.  This is slightly slower than my old i7-7700K for more than 2 threads, where it hits 4.2-4.4 on 4 cores...but it's pretty close.

Comparing on 8 threads, it holds it's own -

This thread is just painfully reminding me I need to make some PC upgrades.

I feel like until I force myself to go into my Steam library (so many summer sale purchases of shame that haven't been touched) and stop dumping most of my time into Blizzard games that can play on a potato, I am never going to. 😥

I just recently did the upgrade to the i7 7700k from an old AMD FX8350 and all I do is game on my PC so it was a very noticeable upgrade for me.

I just added an Oculus Rift to my setup and a new GTX 1080! Best of all.....I only had to pay $50 over MSRP for it!! Was using an .io GPU tracker to scan GPU skus for a couple weeks and finally scored one at a decent price.

I have been eyeing up the threadripper platform from amd and the I9 as well for a upgrade. However, I want to stay with intel, but i need them to start supporting more PCiE channels and such on there lower consumer end like the i7.

I always played on consoles (Ps4 to be more specific) but I always admired PC Gaming.

Sadly I'm still waiting for that day that PUBG will come to PS4 😥

Its a bit of a commitment to switch to PC gaming @jayfromtelesalesYou will spend more money than you ever would with console gaming haha. I haven't played PUBG in a while but when it first came out on early access, it was basically unplayable even on high-end gaming rigs so I was surprised they were gonna move it to consoles. Bluehole is gonna have to do something soon or they are gonna lose all their players to Fortnite. Dang thing is going to be released on mobile soon!

@jayfromtelesales I've never heard of PUBG but I did check it out and this game is right up my ally. Kind of reminds me of Ghost Recon Wildlands. I'd love to see this one come to PS4 too.

@tmo_chris , I always loved those graphics on pc gaming much more. Of course its very expensive to keep up with the latest graphic cards, ram and all these. I got lost in a PC gaming lol. I play fortnite pretty often. Only cons to fortnite is wayyy to many kids playing . Its a pretty cool game though. If they're breaking the charts imagine when it comes to mobile! It will be similar to when Pokemon GO came out lol.

@tmo_mike_c , PUBG is very popular on PC. Personally I haven't played it but the game seems to be awesome . It's survival based, so basically you land in an island/city and loot the place for weapons, health packs and ammo. I was gonna buy Ghost Recon: Wildlands but I heard it's like a Call of Duty but with an awesome campaign.

It does look awesome! I hadn't heard of it before but after checking out the trailer, it looks really cool. I like Wildlands and Call of Duty honestly. I've heard the campaign on the COD series is really good, but I never get to it. I'm too hooked on playing online! 😊   Ghost Recon seems more of a stealth tactic game than COD. If you can play Wildlands with at least one other person, it's pretty cool because you can take down enemy bases from different angles.

I'll definitely look into it. What I'm wondering is when they gonna take that giant step and allow cross-platform playing!

I know Fortnite will make a big move putting Xbox, Ps4, PC and supposedly now Mobile all together cross-platform. That's gonna be crazy because someone on a PC will be able to move and play much faster while Mobile players wont lol. But it's gonna be pretty interesting.

I couldn't agree more. I know that cross-platform game play has been talked about for a while! I have a few friends that play the same games as I do, but they're all loyal to XBox. They just won't leave the dark side and make the switch to PS4! LOL! JK I respect XBox folks. 😜 I still haven't played Fortnite yet, but I'm going to.

Just a side note. A buddy of mine has the Nintendo Switch. That Legend of Zelda game looks awesome! If you haven't seen it yet, you should take a peek.

Fortnite is alright TBH... Only cons is that there's too many kids playing sometimes and you have to mute them lol

But it's an awesome game to play.

@dragon1562 - I went with Intel.  The single thread performance is much better on these chips and core for core, they beat AMD...but TR does give you many more cores for the $...for gaming, these days, the i7-8700K is the overall champ...but you are limited to 16 PCIE Lanes as you said.  Def don't get a i7-78x0-X, those have 28 lanes, but the other i7's are much cheaper...the X299 chipset adds to the cost.  i9-7900X was the min on the X299 chipset as i saw it...but i7-8700K and Z230 is compelling!

Since Jay mentioned Fortnite, did anyone see the Drake playing Fortnite stream last night that broke a whole bunch of Twitch records?

I only watched a second of it, enough to see he was playing on console and was better than I would have expected rofl.

I did heard something about that. With Travis Scott right?

Userlevel 4

Yep!

Ninja, Drake, and I think kim dotcom? It was a random mix lol

Dannnggg, Ninja himself already had a record on twitch. Can't imagine him with Drake, Travis and Kim. I'm gonna try see if I can find it lol

Did they win is the real question !?
