Voicemail not working, Galaxy S5, unlocked GSM phone



    I'm using an unlocked Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5.

    Two questions, really, both related to voicemail:

    1. When I call voicemail and it asks me to put in my pin number followed by pound, it does not seem to register that I've done it.  It keeps asking me over and over, and I can't get into the account to check my messages.  How can I get this to work?

    2. I installed Visual Voicemail, but when I open it I get the message "we are unable to connect to the appropriate cellular network.  Please check your carrier and APN settings and try again".   Is there a way to get this working?
