Why switching to a new Apple Watch series 3 cellular always assigns a new number?


    My old Apple Watch Series 3 screen was cracked. Lucky me, it was under AppleCare warranty and I was able to find a replacement fast. While trying to setup the new Apple Watch Series 3 w/ Cellular (either as new or restore from backup) it always assigns me a new number, instead of asking to use the old one. This even happens when I cleanly unpaired my old watch from my phone before setting up the new one. Any ideas how to fix this problem? Again, I simply wish to transfer my old assigned number to old Apple Watch Series 3 e-sim to the new one. Thanks!
