Now only a 2g signal.

At my work (office building), I was able to get a great 4g signal.  I come back this week and the only signal I can get is 2g.   I do know about the”preferred network type” and that is set to automatic.  Would there be any other setting I should look at?

Nothing to do with your phone. It’s the network. T-Mobile is always making little tweaks to optimize the network and their most recent tweak probably lost you indoor service. Either that or they’re making network upgrades to a nearby tower and have temporarily shut down the LTE band you were using. If it doesn’t resolve itself in a day or two, call 611 and file a coverage complaint ticket. It may help, may not.
