Re: Spam Calls

I appreciate receiving calls that T-Mobile has identified as "Spam Likely", as it enables me to ignore them. However, there are may other similar calls that are not so identified.

Is there any way for me as a T-Mobile customer to report calls to the company that are likely spam?

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

It may not do much good, as the Spammers just pick caller IDs, more or less at random. You can report the call to donotcall.gov but it won't do any good because the ID was fake. One favorite trick the Spammers use is to pick a random number with the same Co (3-digit) prefix as your phone. This way the fake call looks like it's someone local.  I have my phone set to reject any call from my phone's Co, since I don't know anyone with a number close to mine.

I'm guessing you have an Android phone.

It's some Google service that is identifying them as Spam likely.

If I don't recognise the number I "reject" the call, and promptly "block" the number. Since 2004 I have had the same number, and the numbers after my area code are AT&T numbers.

Here’s the deal, just got the spam app from T-Mobile and received a spam call not more than a ½ hour later, and another one not much later. I was asked to review the app in which I said it was worthless. It didn’t catch a single scam call. All the scammer has to do is use a number that is publically available and bingo. The app allows you to block the number, however you can’t block a number you’ve never seen before, plus the scammers never use the same number. I can block the number after it’s called but it doesn’t block unless it’s reported. At least with Nomorobo I report the number and it is blocked. Maybe with the new FCC rules about caller ID linked with the actual number might help. Until then, this app is not the answer.
