Since T-Mobile merged with Sprint (had Sprint in the past and hated it), my service/reception that worked GREAT, now is HORRIBLE.  I have a new phone and the phone is not the problem, it is the service. And I am in the same area.   I have been extremely happy with T-Mobile until now.  I am looking for another carrier.  Advice to T-Mobile; DUMP SPRINT

T-Mobile won’t be dumping Sprint, since they now own them and are basically converting their customers over to T-Mobile along with some of their towers.  What device are you using?  Have you done any checking with Cell Mapper to get an idea of what towers are around you, what band(s) they are using, and how far away they are?  Has a new source of interference appeared, like a new WiFi router or electronic device that might be causing the signal to be weaker?

Are you a T-Mobile employee?

if you are looking for a TMO employee then the site here is not where you want to be...this is mainly peer to peer.

with that being said..an add on question to syaorans questions..what phone do you have? and by chance did you start noticing this before or after you got the new phone? and are there any other TMO phones around you and if so are they seeing the same problem or no?

No, I am not!  T-Mobile Employees usually have something identifying them from the rest of the community.

I'm having this issue.  I have a Samsung Note 8.  Breaking up, people can't hear me, calls occassionally drop. It's so annoying, people dont want yo talk to me.  Same routine as always.  Same locations as always.  Nothing has changed on my end.  Talked to t-mobile and they sent me new sim cards.  That didnt help.  Its horrible.  My daughter who lives with me and has a Samsung Avant something or other is experiencing the same issues.   Any ideas?

do you both still run into issues once you leave that area by say 5+ miles? across town does the same thing happen?

is it location based or does the problem follow you guys no matter where you go?

also out of curiosity...what phone do you both have in here?

I have a sprint Note8. I have been unable to make or take calls (data is fine - weird) most of this week. Spent 4.5+ hours on phone or chat support and many many network resets. Yesterday I was told that this is a Samsung bug and that they can’t do anything about it. Talked to Samsung, they have no idea what I was talking about. I’m ready to leave….

It sounds like your phone is not getting VoLTE for T-Mobile. If data (on LTE) is fine, but voice/text is bad, it would seem your voice will only use UMTS (3G). T-Mobile has very little 3G signal left, and is phasing it out, alltogether. Your local towers may have started to get 3G reduced or eliminated.

the problem came in with their last security patch and affected quite a few Sammy devices. Brother has the N8 as well and is running into the same thing. not sure if this problem follows over to the TMO devices or not (i usually stick to the Sprint side for now with random visits to this side)

and whaaaaaaattt? Samsung denied knowing about the issue and pointed right back at the carrier? no...way...that NEVER happens…. lol.

I’ve been having trouble with everything since Tmobile joined Sprint:  signal is AWFUL, even in my house; I often cannot get access to data (at critical times, like when I need Google Maps to show me how to get home); and sometimes texts take forever to send or won’t send at all--especially when they include a photo. I did not have this problem previously, and I have the same phone I had before the merger (a Motorola G7 Plus).  I’m ready to look for another phone service provider. Prices will be going up for Tmobile in the next couple of years, anyway.

phone just needs to be tweaked on the network side.

make sure the phone is not only using cdma technology, make sure gsm and lte is on.

make sure apn is properly set up

turn on roaming and data roaming if its not unlocked.  (you wont be charged)

T mobile has ruined sprint service. I have this same issue pretty much everywhere I travel within 60 miles of my home. There wasn't an issue until the phone was updated recently so I know it isn't a problem with the samsung phone. The only way to fix it is to provision the phone to set it back to original sprint specs. It lasts about 3 to 4 days most of the time until the system updates the profile and prl then I'm back to nothing. I've had sprint service since 2004 and always have got better service in my area than my friends with verizon but at this point I'm ready to switch to Verizon even though the plans cost almost twice as much.

I have  a s10 and since the merger my service/reception has gone down. I'm in the same areas and I don't always have  strong signals. I  ran away from sprint too. I used to have Nextel. When sprint got their claws into that company it went to the crapper

I am in Cincinnati  Ohio zip code 45205 and even with full 5g signal bar on my a71 5g, I barely have internet  connection  and t mobile claim they are running mid band  5g in my city. Liars

Service is horrible!!! I don't receive calls from time to time. If I do get a call it drops and I have to use my work phone to return the call. I can't sent text messages half the time and when I call customer service they offer me NO solution!!!!! I have no choice but to switch my services. I have been a loyal 8 year customer.

T Mobile,  we need midband on all 5g towers in Cincinnati  Ohio

I too have had terrible service since the merger with Sprint, the reason that I left Sprint in the first place.  Nothing has changed as far as my residence and my phone.  T-Mobile was great before getting too big for its pants.  Will be leaving T-Mobile/Sprint by the weekend.  Thanks for ruining a great company.

I would have to agree with this sentiment. I’ve had T-Mobile for well over a decade and have noticed a severe change in their service quality. More dropped calls since they’ve bought out Sprint and signal issues. It has been my experience that while one would experience a drop call every once in a while, it wasn’t to a point where i questioned the quality of service. Now, it has, and I have been doing my research with AT&T and Verizon; thinking that it might be time to leave T-mobile. My hope is that they straighten this matter out soon.

I suggest taking a look at our online support document for Signal issues / no service troubleshooting. It’s got some helpful steps to fix this issue. At the very bottom, it’s got a link for reporting if the coverage in your area hasn’t always been as solid.

I’ve been a TMO customer for more that 15 years.  Last 5 weeks have been hell.  Dropped calls, failure to connect calls, calls going to voice mail never ringing the phone and slow to non existent internet. I have three lines, all the same.  One rep says their are ongoing upgrades in progress and there are outages as a result, the next says there are none. Even their own 611 recorded message disagrees with what is reported by live reps. No changes in phones or location. Used to be great, now intolerable.

I’m giving them 1 week then going to port.

I started having these issues yesterday. I thought it was the phone at first so i might be services.

its possible...are there any other phones on your account in the same home or location you are running into this? and if yes...are they running into this as well or no? if its location based it’ll affect numerous devices..heck if you head out and about from your current location by say 5+ miles you should be connected to a different tower..if it hasnt improved then odds are its on the devices side or possibly something going on with the account..but usually its the device

I’m having the same issues and they replaced our SIM cards and keep telling me their engineer Dept is looking into it. I’m ready to move to Verizon.
