All of my other devices connect just fine to the wifi but my laptop won't or can't pick up the signal from the router. I took my laptop to the repair shop and it connected fine to their wifi. I was told if it still didn't connect at home there may be a problem with the router. Anyone have any suggestions.
Laptop is a Toshiba if that helps
How old is the laptop and what version of Windows are you running? My wife had similar issue when I upgraded my home wifi router (with Xfinity internet) and she had to update her networking driver in order to work,
I don't know how old it is its a Toshiba satellite and it's running windows 10
All I can recommend is try to find an updated wifi driver. I believe that Toshiba Satellite series was discontinued in 2016 so it may no longer have driver support.
As a long shot, you could try to separate out your 5 and 2.4 ghz bands into separate SSID to see if that works. You make that change via the web ui on your TMO router.
