When trying to send a text from the Timex Family Connect watch, it keeps loading instead of sending. I can't delete it to try to resend it again. How do I fix this?

Is the texting app using Android Messages and if so. Is the chat feature enabled? Google has been having some issues recently that has been causing some messages using the chat/RCS features to hang. Sending them as a regular SMS is the current work around.
