Hulu + Live TV won't work on my TV

I recently tried a trial subscription of Hulu + Live TV through my T-Mobile Home Internet Service. It won't work due to their security measures. I signed in using my laptop and that worked fine. I managed my account and added my Samsung TV. Went to my TV to activate it and I got an error message. Chatted with tech support and they said my IP address for the TV was in the wrong zip code area. My IP is likely generated from a router in Somerville, MA whereas I live in Wells, ME.

The laptop works because they expect a laptop to move around but they can't buy that my TV in Wells has a Somerville IP address. Tech offered no work around other than to cast it to my TV.

Just an observation in case anyone is contemplating the Hulu + Live TV service, it may not work.

I recently had the same problem, but if you call Hulu technical support at 888-265-6650 they will find your IP address and adjust your account where it will work.  Happily, it did.  Problem solved.

Not working now. I have had to call hulu over 20 times in the last 2 days. It is not their problem. For whatever reason, TM has exponentially gotten worse with the ip changes. Mine are changing anywhere one minute to two hours. Extremely unstable. Doesn’t help that the internet has gone down a minimum of twice a day, to 5 & 6 x a day.

Started having this issue over the past two weeks. I was given one workaround which is to get a third party router so that I have a static IP address through that. Haven’t tried it and I’m not sure if this will work.

Any thoughts?

Has anyone tried using a WiFi router connected to the T-Mobile device, then log Hulu into that WiFi account?

Hi Chris49, have you tried this yet for yourself?  I've been wondering the same thing as a potential workaround, but have yet to find anyone who has used this setup.

I live in a very rural area where only DSL running ≤10mbps download is available without using a carrier, and received notification from TMobile that a spot opened up...the nearest tower is directmline of site across 2 cornfields from my bedroom about .9mi away,.so fingers crossed my speeds are beter. Ordered my TMHI today and as a HuluLive subscriber, have been trying to find a solid self-help solution to avoid the frequent calls to Hulu support or finding another local channel and LiveTV streamer.

Does YouTube show local channels?

Don't know about YouTube and local channels.

I am on day 9 of my trial subscription with TMobile Home Internet as of this post.  Upon activation I did have to call Hulu to have them reassign the remote IP being broadcast by TMobile to my account, and it's been smooth sailing with both TMHI and HuluLive ever since.  Hulu reassured me that since I'm a rural TMobile customer with limited options for internet, that all I have to do anytime the IP or gateway resets, is to call them at 888-907-0345 and they will reassign again.  After.9 days, I've not had to do this yet, so I can live with having to call in once in a while, so long as it's infrequent.

Another note, is that I read in other forums/threads that when Hulu does the IP reassignment, that the process has to be reoeated for each smart tv or device in the home;  I didn't find that to be the case.  I have 4 tvs running Hulu Live off of Amazon Firesticks, and as soon as they realigned my address and IP, all I had to do was log back in to all 4 tvs and Hulu Live/DVR was back.
