Is anyone else having issues with all their smart devices showing adds or placing them in a state and city that is not theirs? For months my phone, Alexa, google, Mac, and any device on my Tmobile internet is showing me in Denver, Colorado yet I live in Kansas City! This is so annoying and it makes impossible to purchase online for anything because it keeps defaulting even after I change it, it diverts back to Colorado! I’m so sick of it and the poor customer support that I’m canceling my service with Tmobile all together. Can get better service and $25 cheaper with other providers!

If this bothers you, your only real option is a wired ISP (DSL, Cable or Fiber). There is no requirement that IP address be linked to geographic location. It’s just something that developed because it was cheap and easy. So, the answer is that there’s really not a problem to fix or if there is, it’s on the part of the websites that ass-u-me that they can somehow determine location from IP address.
