I am 18 and I want to get out of my parents family plan and get my own line, can I just go into the T-Mobile store and do that or do I have to have the account holder (my mom) come in to do so?

If you want to keep your current number you will need to do a change of responsibility and get permission of the account holder. If you want to start with a new number then you just need to open a new account.
