I think they are playing with tower signals to gateway. I get strong n71 secondary signal then lately it drops completely with 0 bars for a half day then comes back again 5 bars. The interesting thing is my cell phone gets the n71 signal WHEN THERE IS NONE ON THE GATEWAY. So it is not a signal problem. Tmobile must be able to kill the specific band to the gateways.
Sorry for all the mispells. 4 days without disconnect then one tuesday AM. This could be tmobile rebooting their system. Problem is you have to reboot the router (it does not auto connect to internet even though wifi and cell signals are good) and if not home you can not do this remotely. Supposedly tmobile may be able to do this remotely. Went 7 days before that without disconnect.
Hi. I called hulu and they asked for my ? IP address that you get from IP chicken? site and that fixed it. Even after reboots it seems to be holding. Hulu only permits one home location be used unless on a mobile device so tech was able to allow traffic from the router(even though the router gives out a different home location then my actual home location). By the way Tmobile has upfront indicated that this could be a problem with July. Interestingly this is not a problem with YouTube TV etc so July must handle location Info differently.
B2 (primary) and n41 or n71(secondary). Tmobile is constantly changing towers signals etc because of rolling out sprint 5g towers. If there is a sudden change in signal a tower change might have caused it. Try rebooting to see if there is a different tower to go off or moving the router to see if you can pick up another tower. Fortunately the lowest signal I get here is 2 bar and the router switchable to another available band available.
Hi. Around super bowl I had one disconnect a day. Streaming froze up once. It was stable for 5 days without disconnect. Able do a little streaming without problems. No buffering. Not a problem to reboot the router once a week. As you found I doubt any of what you tries was the problem. More likely this is how Tmobile is handling traffic off of there servers. When it does disconnect the wifi signal and lye and 5g signals are good (2 -3 bars) but there is no data coming in. This is a problem if not home as can not reboot the router remotely only if at home on wifi. I believe Tmobile can reboot the router remotely however as some have said. Right now things are fairly stable. There was a firmware update recently that may have helped??? Also remember that Tmobile can reduce speeds if you use more than 50-100 FBI per month. This might be effecting your ability to stream at a high rate.
Hi. Stable for 5-6 days without reboot. I am not sure if regularly rebooting the router would help as the cause of this is unclear. Eg could it just be Tmobile rebooting its servers. If it happens once a week that's not the end of the world. If away the idea of auto rebooting say once a day might help especially if you are away for more than a day. I also have read that Tmobile might be able to remotely reboot your router at lease one person here said they were able to do that for him.
Hi. Only tracking this for last several days. There was the update as above nit not sire when. The drops Jane not happened for the last 4 days.
Good discussion. 2ndary pops between N41 and N71. 2ndary always better than B2 but on N41 its close. Speeds super when on N42.eg 400 with downloads more variable 10-30. When on N71 speeds food eg around 200. T-Mobile is adding sprint towers etc so there is likely to be changes to signal in an area over time with a lot of expansion NY 2023? Frequency is signal important here as sprint is faster nut not penetrate as much and more likely to be affected by interference. So distance from tower, frequency, interference all are factors and specific to an individual. It does seem that they are using the secondary signal in my case. Its the same for my cell. It is my understanding the cell can use all bands in a "layer cake" type association but not sure if this is the case with home internet. The only problem I have had is the data coming down is interrupted despite strong wifi connection. Only rebooting corrects this completely. I can reboot by being on the wifi on the modem and going into th
No such setting on the Nokia router that I see. I wondered if scheduling power off on would prevent it.
Very important they can reboot a gateway remotely.
I get good 5g signal most of the time (3 bar rarely 2) and the disconnect happens every 1-2 days. I doubt its the Gateway to tower but something tower to tmobiles servers.
Yes. T-Mobile needs to fix the problem that device remain connected to the Gateway not lose internet eg data coming in. Rebooting the router corrects this but if it happens frequently its a pain and if you are not home you would need to call them to have them reboot it as one would not be able to connect to through the app as one needs to be connected to wifi to do this. I gave up my spectrum internet to try tmobiles and it works well on a complex setup accept for these disconnects.
Was good now seems to happen more frequently with latest update. Could be related to number of devices connected and with nbackend (Tmobile servers) unable to handle and so it freezes and then disconnects. Doubt overheat or signal problem as I seem to have neither. Could even be tmobile servers overewelmed in general and they are rebooting their system. Agree needs fixing.
This is important issue. This happens with me too. I get great speeds but then this disconnect. Can happen couple tines per day. Its a pain to reboot it. I doubt this is a hearing issue because it does not get very hot. Rebooting would result in same heat status but it works fine immediately after reboot. i moved my spectrum service slowly over to the Tmobile service with increased devices and I think it has gotten worse so I actually think this is a Tmobile back end problem and they my even be rebooting theoretical system multiple times per day because it is overloaded. i do have another router connected but this makes no difference as everything disconnects. Not a signal problem as I always her 2-3 bar and have never seen it less than 2. The router communicates with tmobiles servers and this is causing a software freeze with disconnect??? If so they do need to fix it. (I have the newer silver round tower)
