I had this issue on my S21U once UC started showing up. This is what worked for me. Go to device settings. Then connections. Then sim card manager. Deactivate the SIM. Wait about 15 seconds. Reactivate sim. Enjoy faster speeds. Hope that helps. I've tried speaking to every department multiple times, T-Force, Note 10+5G with 4 solid bars to Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G 4 solid bars 5GUC 4 bars LTE extended and my data is a consistent 0.50mbps. I got so desperate I purchased a signal Booster. $500 and achieved up to -50 to -65dBm which is a very strong signal. I think that's about what the phones go up to. DL speeds sometimes 1mbps but always settles to 0.50mbps or worse. But UL speeds go to 20-30mbps which is great but I need DL not UL speeds. Makes zero sense to me why up is good but down is not affected. Not even T-Mobile or their techs can give me "any" answer. No clue but they're still happy to get my monthly due.
I had a similar problem come up in the last month and a half. I’m on an iPhone and was running iOS 15.6, and 15.5 before it, when I stopped receiving texts intermittently. Sending always worked. I narrowed it down to 5G; if I was on 5G, texts would stop. On 5G UC or LTE, they’d come through. Restarting seemed to help, but in the end, what’s worked 100% of the time was removing the plan from my phone entirely, then I reactivated it. Now the phone seems to join 5G UC and WiFi calling more often, receiving texts just works, and I’m still using the same eSIM as before. Hey Scott, you can read my update above but I do wonder what you mean by "removing the plan from your phone". What does that mean and do you know how that affects your phone? Just curious, never heard anyone say that. Thanks in advance. Jimmy
Hi Jimmy, what you are experiencing is a sim issue, it's unfortunate right now with all the modernization of the towers, but rest assured there is a fix. You'll need to switch from the esim to psim (physical sim). We've noticed this issue with all Apple Devices with dual sims. If you're device doesn't have a physical sim, just drop by aT-Mobile retail store and pick up one. They will be happy to make the switch for you. No need to use it for a paperweight. Hope this helps. Not on Apple device and no eSim. Been on physical Sim card and recently changed Sim cards since I've had the original for 2 years. Made zero difference. CS, TECH and Force team have not been able to fix or even have an answer as to why only my data is affected. It's not my phone, I recently switched from Galaxy Note 10+5g to Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G and nothing has changed. Everything is great except data. Switching from 5G to LTE might make a 0.10mbps difference so in other words nada. It's really disappointing

I wish that were the case but neither device is on e-sim or dual capable and on separate lines. TabS8+5G has new sim and had them send new one for Note 10+5G since the original was over 2 years. Not sure about tower modernization either since it's been this way over a year but even worse the last couple months. Tech says nothing going on with towers in this area and with the coverage they see it doesn't make sense. New Tablet vs older 5G phone shows minimal speed difference but going for the S22 Ultra to test
Having the same issues with my iPhone 12 Max. Phone turns into a brick when UC triggers. First time in a long time I’m looking for new service. Reset my network settings, cycled my phone… nothing works. Worst part I can’t restrict UC from triggering and turning my phone into a brick. Have you tried using Samsung Band Selector? It's at Play store. You can choose the bands you prefer and just keep the UC bands out. N38 and N41 are mmWave, N260 and N261 I believe is where the UC starts. When I can lock these 4 in I can get better data speeds than on the regular 5G bands. Unfortunately when I do get the better bands the phone eventually will switch me back to the shittier band 2 and 66 for some reason except for on my Tab S8+5G which loves the UC and mmWave.
Well supposedly their rolling out some tests doing voice over 5G but I'm not sure what areas. As of now from what I've researched voice is over 4G which I also found out when I locked my phone into NR bands only. Could not send or receive talk or text. That's my recent experience. If anyone know the true facts on this please chime in. I'm still trying to learn a lot about these technologies since T-Mobile can't figure out why with 4+ bars of 5GUC all day long I have dial up data speeds even with map coverage not missing a single pixel of Magenta. Typical is 0.5mbps fed by - 100 to - 120dbm which is ridiculous even with 2-3 bars. It's not going to get better either with the blackouts of 3G and all the Sprint port overs plus ship jumpers from the other carriers not realizing they made a mistake. They need to stop messing around and provide better signals for those on the outskirts of the big cities because it's still a huge customer base for them. They are losing sight of customer first
Hey the deal on the Galaxy S22 serious wasn't true when I tested it out. I have a Galaxy Note 10 plus 5G and it says current Magenta Max customers could trade in or get another Max line. It shows the $800 trade in's and my note is one of them. I start the process and they want to give me $145. Heck I went to Samsung and they'll give $475 and Zero down plus Zero interest for 36 months. T-Mobile wants $399 plus tax. They're trying to pull one at least from my attempt to see if it's real. I'm just going to Samsung direct to get mine plus this way if I have to jump ship I'm not locked in. I did it with the Galaxy Tab S8+5G and I got over $700 in discounts and $100 in Google play store. The other thing I like is they report to credit bureaus where T-Mobile does not. Personally I'm done trying to buy anything from T-Mobile anymore. It's never been good for the consumer unless you're coming from somewhere else I guess. Existing customers? Eh, I'm not feeling any love from them. They can't eve
You sure they didn't give you an international version. Try to get phone info app on there and check the compatible bands to make sure they match tmobile bands. If you have a computer or phone that does work you can load them through a cable or use microSD card.
Also get with tech support. Make sure you're speaking to an English speaking person. Not being prejudice or rude but they have been the only ones to resolve issues. Even better get the supervisor on the phone. He released mine the very next day and even by passed the system on my Tablet as well because it was greyed out and regular techs couldn't change it.
Agreed, and your advice to try twitter was a resounding success. Thank you so much! Yes but what did they do for you. I got nothing resolved using any of the support teams. Mine is a data issue since talk and text are fine. Maybe that's the difference. Still curious how did they solve your issue. It would help others out with your situation. Have a feeling they're sending the CellSpot. Hope they asked if she has strong internet connection because they didn't ask me and I had to send it back.
i cant remember if i asked before..but was wifi calling ever an option for you? i cant remember if Sprints booster was just a plug and play type set up or if it had to be linked into your home net. Not sure if it changed but when I was with sprint many years back it had like a GPS Puck you stuck to your window and no internet hookup required.
Hello fireguy_6364, I just saw your reply, thank you. Since then I have bought a signal booster (not cheap) and I have 5G on all of my phones now, as well as 4 or 5 bars. I have been thinking of getting a signal booster but didn’t want to spend so much money as I am not sure if that’ll work. I decided to try it and have no regrets whatsoever. The only problem is that the phones have to be close to the booster (about 5 feet). But that’s not a problem since I work at home and I can put the booster next to me. Even if I am not near the booster, I still get better reception with 4G Lite. And my streaming has been improved tremendously. When I travel, I usually have no problem getting 5G. Man I really hate when T-Mobile lies to their customers. You're past that already since you bought one but they discontinued the boosters and won't bring them back. As for your booster I'm glad to hear you have descent signal now but remember you're getting up to LTE Signal boosts because they aren't all
Between the 3 carriers in some informal tests T-mobile came last 9 times out of 10. With 4G/LTE they came in last all the time in given even cell signal areas. In my area I'm in a heavily saturated 5GUC and LTE area according to their coverage maps (yes I know, you can't go by that it's for marketing purposes only) and if I can get more than 1.0 mbps dl speeds I'm having a good day. Tech support has no idea why I'm having these issues especially when I get solid 4 bars on my 2 - 5G/UC devices and 4 bars of LTE on my 1 - 4G device. It's very disappointing to say the least.
If it's not in print I would not think it's there from Veteran to another. Make sure you're making the move for the right reasons after lots of research and don't use the coverage maps as a basis. Have a paper trail for every promise. They do have you verify your status online so they do apply to things I've just never used mine yet although vetted already because my senior citizen discounts have worked well for me. I know they have military plan discounts but not sure on products. Not like Samsung does. Always best to ask even if you don't see it advertised. Good luck to you and thank you for your service.
Yes they do. You basically have to upload a document saying what your current status is. Quick process. I just uploaded my service verification letter which I had previously downloaded from the VA website. If you're not a senior you should find some discounts as military. Thank you for your service and good luck to you.
Loyalty doesn't hold the same meaning as when I was growing up. The idea is to not focus on the fish you caught but the ones getting away. It's like the 5G and 4G LTE coverage map. That map isn't for us and I'll be showing an example below, because we know it's not accurate. But rather it's to bring those other fish, those thinking about another carrier to the boat. You loyal customers can't be bothered with we got fishing to do. They've ramped up their advertising and customer service but not their data and cell service. It's a shame because I like T-Mobile waaaay more than the other 2 big boys in the sandbox but there is a price to pay for loyalty. It's a dog eat dog world and the only thing that really works is speaking with your dollars. This Cellphone Carrier Has the Worst Network Quality, Customers Say

It's cheaper to lose you as a customer than keep you. This is corporate speak. Sorry to hear you're going through that. Unfortunately loyalty has no power anymore unless it is used as a collective. A huge number of us standing together demanding fair trade for our dollars or taking our money elsewhere. 1 dollar out of my pocket is nothing but 1 dollar out of 1 thousand of us, now that demands attention. Good luck to you and don't buckle. Keep pushing.
Did you know they also started an online bank? They want to dip their toes into everything. Yes, it's unfortunate but their internet is lacking as much as their data service. But hey my $1,400 phone has great phone and text abilities. I just can't expect much for online stuff.
I'm in Quartzsite Arizona (Southern) and the coverage map shows my community is saturated with 5G Extended Range and same with 4G LTE. I get 4 bars of 5G on my main line and 4 bars of 4G LTE. The coverage map is to bring in new customers not for existing ones. I'm going to point you to an article if you haven't already seen it. If nothing else you have to laugh at it. After that you'll see my speed tests where the map says HEAVY Coverage. They need to bring back the signal boosters for those of us who don't have internet access. This Cellphone Carrier Has the Worst Network Quality, Customers Say
Always leave a paper trail people. You can't trust any of the big corps. The care is how many dollars they can get from the consumer not customer satisfaction. If you can't record your call, (letting them know you're doing so) get into a chat room with them whenever possible and have that paper trail. It's all we have anymore.
