Pixel 7 Security Update

So that only leaves something behind the scenes. Something tmo and google are hashing it out. Its got to be something that the two cant agree on. I highly suspect something feature related. I keep saying I think tmo wants something removed or blocked? We're just going to have to wait it out. Once we do get a update. I’m pretty sure it will be a specific android build for tmo. We can pick it apart then and look for whats different. It’s more likely the time necessary to modify and fully test code, which is significant, It won’t be a specific T-Mo build for factory unlocked phones (like mine). It’s more likely a functional issue specific to the T-Mo network than something T-Mo wants removed or blocked. The problem is there are countless of T-Mobile pixel 6 and 7 owners who haven't received the November update. Who's holding that back? My two cents. T-Mobile has no right to hold back security updates on unlocked phones not even purchased from T-Mobile. I opted into the beta program and I have the January 5th update. Fingerprint sensor works much better and no Bluetooth issues at all. I can use Bluetooth on any of my devices and it works as it always did on my Hyundai sonata using Android Auto. I pay T-Mobile only for data. They don't own my phone's. They did the same thing with OnePlus if any of you remember. I certainly remember security updates once every 2 months.

First this is no longer just a issue of the release being in batches. It's clearly being blocked by tmobile. And don't be surprised if it's because they don't want us to have a feature. Like visual voicemail with transcription. Maybe they are telling Google to take it out. so they can make us download the tmo app. And pay for transcription? Right now you can delete all the T-Mobile apps. I paid for unlocked pixel phones from Google to get away from T-Mobile delays. I have no contact so I can go anywhere and get better perks. I just might sign up for the beta program and get every update without T-Mobile interfering. Following the Pixel's first stable update of 2023, Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 is rolling out today with the January security patch.4 days ago

My Pixel 7 will not receive  the January 2023 security update . Tried doing it manually and no luck, have heard it’s a T-Mobile issue but that's just hearsay. Heard you can just pull your sim out and put another one in and it will update haven’t tried that one yet. If it's a locked phone you're out of luck. If not you can still side load it.

Who pulled the update Google or T-Mobile? I can't find any T-Mobile user with the update but certainly other carriers. People were receiving update as late as yesterday.

The updates come directly from Google.  If you put another carrier SIM in your device, it will update the firmware and carrier aggregation to that carrier until you return to the T-Mobile update path, which might make a coue.of updates if the version numbers are dated the same. Not true T-Mobile can delay the update. It's listed on the Google community. It's all over YouTube and Reddit. They have no right holding back on updates. Which Google approved and the phones used are unlock phones. Purchase from Google.

Pixel 6 December update

I know all of Google's phones were updated except the Pixel 6 and pro. I'm not tech savvy to even try to side load it. How is the new update? I'm certainly having issues and the only fix for me is to restart the phone a dozen times a day. I really need a working phone.  Its good but not great and sideload it's not the hard  Here is a video all software comes from Google ...think Google it's taking there time to release because a lot ppl finding bugs specially on uk n Canada networks  I've read about many network connection issues with the new update. Maybe it's best being delayed as it seems Google is still having problems.

T-Mobile 5G Connection Issues causing missed Texts, Calls, and Voicemail - NO DATA!

T-Mobile 5G is terrible. I had to turn mine off  on my Pixel 5G and use LTE. When I was connected to 5G I did a speed test and the best was 14 mbps.

Pixel 6 December update

Google releases the updates whether if the phone was purchased through Google or Tmobile on a staggered basis. Verizon is in partnership with Google which is why their phones probably received it first. I understand what you are saying, but before I bought two Pixel 6 phones from T-mobile my wife bought a Pixel 3A when T-mobile was selling them. She received  every month the security update and Android 12 when it was released. That was the reason I bought two Pixel 6’s. There are major issues with the Pixel 6 which this update is to fix. I’ve been with Tmobile 15 years and they are very slow to release updates.
