I’m having a problem with T-Mobile 5g home internet that has not been resolved despite many calls in to the help line. I’ve had T-Mobile 5g home internet for almost a month now, and the short version is that every so often the gateway drops the network. When I say “drop the network,” I mean to say it throws everything off of the Wifi that it’s broadcasting, and anything plugged in via ethernet says “no network found. (To elaborate this point, cell phones switch to cellular data because wifi is gone for them, and computers hardwired into the gateway think that they are no longer plugged into anything.) Turning off the gateway and turning it back on resolves the issue, but doesn’t prevent it from happening again. Whatever is happening doesn’t seem to affect our connection speed/strength when the gateway IS providing signal to devices in the home, but due to the nature of our work, we need a connection that won’t just disconnect randomly. To address this, T-mobile has so far run a
I don't want to use TMo's app. I'm sure it'll just have ads or do data collection or just otherwise be bad -- it only has 3.5 stars in the play store and looks to be filled with bugs. You guys suck for dropping support of the built in android voicemail feature which worked just fine.Ugh. Stuff like this, my terrible reception at home, and the sprint merger make me think more and more about switching -- and I've been a t-mo customer for 15 years!
after i updated my phone to android 12 my service got so dam bad i wish i dint do it my z fold 3 is slow and the service is patchy and im tired of talking to a rep it seems all i get is a reset your phone and that could help this a 1800 phone i might get rid of it and get the galaxy S22 ultra if this phone does not get any better
A good amount of people have been running into the issue of not being able to download google play store apps or updates using the T-mobile services. I have their internet service and cell service and every time I attempt to install an update using google play it will just stick on pending and will not initiate the download. Tested the downloads on a different internet provider and it works just fine. Clearing the cache nor resetting the phone to factory can fix this issue. I will link a few reference sites where others are talking about this exact issue:https://www.reddit.com/r/googleplay/comments/t74j3f/google_play_was_working_perfectly_fine_yesterday/Link 2https://downdetector.com/status/google-play/ If anyone can help or can forward this to the proper channels would be great.
I am experiencing my WIFI Calling Preferences always being forced to “cellular preferred”, as are others. I live in an area with poor T-mobile mobile data signal and this recent behavior makes my phone unable to make and receive calls and text messages. I believe the problem only started happening after the next to last T-Mobile software update. Everything was fine for my first 5 months of ownership. A Google search shows posts of other users experiencing the same issue, but no options other than a tedious workaround of manually switching the phone to Airplane mode and changing the WIFI calling preferences back to “WIFI preferred”. I have to do this kind of process each time I enter and leave my home, and sometimes have to reboot my phone as well. The times I’ve forgotten, I’ve missed package deliveries and went to a doctor appointment when the doctor had left a message that he was out sick. This appears to be a carrier specific issue as far as I can see. I even tried repla
As soon as AT&T shut down 2G I switched to T-Mobile.Now I am hearing rumors that T-Mobile is shutting down 2G at the end of 2020.I have an Ebay bushiness unlocking AT&T older phones for use on T-Mobile. Shutting down 2G will make all these phones useless, creating an unimaginable amount of e-waste and destroying me and many others source of income.A large amount of people still use these older 2G-only phones, due to their reliability and people disliking the lack of options, poor repairability, and poor build quality in the modern phone market.Perhaps you can add a fee for 2G service to help keep up the cost of maintaining the older network, but I beg, do NOT shut down 2G.ESPECIALLY because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is an incredibly terrible idea to force the shutdown at this moment. Many businesses will not be able to cough up the cost for new equipment that relied on the legacy 2G network.
I've been having an issue for about a week now where as soon as my phone connects to Wifi, I begin having issues sending and receiving text messages. I've been having the same issue as well as my Girlfriend, her Mom, and her Daughter all having the exact same issues when on WiFi. This includes 4 different phones, 3 different Samsung models and an iPhone. All T-Mobile devices. This issue seems to only be with text messaging. No issues with calls or any type of Data or internet related App. Just sending and receiving text messages.I called support last week because I was certain this was a known issue for many people, but was told it was not. I went through all the trouble shooting steps with the team and nothing they could do seemed to fix the issue. I cleared my cache, checked my data to ensure it was all setup correctly, I'm even now using a brand new Note 9 and still having the same issues. When I called originally I was using my s7 Edge.I've taken a few photos where you can see the
So I have the Inseego M2000 hotspot with the 100 GB plan for use on a rural property. Fortunately it connects to a 5G tower here and generally speaking when it works I get good transfer speeds (30-50 Mbps down and 3-10 Mbps up). There is some sort of insidious problem with this device that I can’t pin down though. Most of my devices work just fine - iPhones, Apple TV, Ring floodlight camera, Macbook, etc. However, there are a few consumer devices that simply will not set up on this network - as if something on this device is blocking or resetting the connection. Namely, I’ve had trouble with Ring stick-up cameras, a Yale/August connect remote lock, and a Sensi wireless thermostat. All exhibit a similar problem which is that they’ll connect to the WiFi just fine but can’t complete setup due to a generic internet connectivity issue. However, I can get all of these devices to work just fine if i use my iPhone as a hotspot, which is also a T-Mobile-connected device (4G LTE). I’ve tried all m
Home internet service IPv6 traffic is all filtered even when using a Netgear LTE router. No port forwarding. Plz fix!
My background is in IT / networking and I started using Tmo Home Internet for the past 2 weeks. The router being shipped today to customers is missing very important features for power users - it actually broke my ability to remotely access my home via direct-connection using public IPv6 and IPv4 that I used on comcast. Contacting support for help is pretty much useless, although I have raised a few tickets regarding the major issues affecting me since switching ISPs, namely:Unable to ping my IPv6 WAN address given by T-mobile (to remotely monitor my internet connection) Unable to remotely access my home via my VPN server which listens to connections on the WAN IPv6 address (again, T-mobile is filtering ALL my incoming traffic - comcast, att fiber, other major players in the market don’t do this filtering to endpoints except for spam port 25) Connecting to a VPN server hosted on the internet is unreliable and unstable. T-mobile does not offer IPv6 Prefix Delegation (comcast has it, att
Help! I’m visiting Canada. I usually do for 4 days every month. I’ve not had any issues until this trip. I have coverage, 4 bars with Bell or Telus LTE or 3G but I can’t get data to work. This is incredibly inconvenient. I‘ve tried tech support multiple times and they have opened a ticket. This is since Thursday and I have not heard back. I head back to the US tonight so I’m not sure they will resolve it. I’m back visiting in 2 weeks for the holidays. I’m considering changing to Verizon because I’ll be in Canada for 2 weeks and no data leaves me in a tough spot (can’t get an uber, no iMessage, no google maps etc). Have tried:Reset Network Settings #766# LTE and 3GAuto carrier and manually select (Telus and Bell)Restarted phone, hard restartWhat else can I try? This is so inconvenient.
Hi, I have a service that reminds people to move their car on street sweeping days (dontfearthesweeper (dot) com). It sends a text message the night before your street sweeping. Everyone I send messages to signed up for the service, and they have the option to stop getting messages at any time.It has come to my attention that tmobile is blocking my messages. As far as I can tell tmobile is the only carrier that blocks the messages. How do I fix this situation?I spoke with several people in customer support. I heard over and over again that I had to be a tmobile customer to get support on this issue. So I’ve bought a tmobile account just to get help with this. I’ve confirmed on my new tmobile phone number that my messages are being blocked. The first message went through, but after that the rest of the messages were blocked. The messages are being sent through a normal (not short code) phone number with twilio. I’m sure they’re following all the appropriate procedures. I’ve seen people m
Is it possible to get a static IP with the 5G Home Internet service? Normally I wouldn’t need it but since my connection dies at least once a week I get a new IP every time my modem reboots. I work from home and whenever my IP changes I have to update some of my clients’ firewalls.

Whenever I receive a call from a number that is not saved in my contacts, the Caller ID shows it incorrectly. It appears as if it's adding a country code that is not correct, or just breaking the number apart incorrectly and showing it coming in from a different country all together. This has only been going on for about a week. The numbers below are in fact US numbers, if you look at the one labeled peru, it should be (513)-393-2193 - I dont know where the extra 6 is coming from. The Argentina number, is actually 877 -698-3261. Again, no idea where the +54 is coming from and the Croatia number is 385 428 1000 - no extra numbers there, it just formatted it incorrectly. Is anyone else having this problem? I've hard reset the phone numerous times, no fix
I am having a huge delay in sending a picture via text message. At times it takes twenty minutes at others it takes ten minutes, and that is if it sends at all. Regular texts go through right away. The pictures i send are ones i take, or screenshots so they aren't very big. This very annoying, does anybody know what I can do to fix this? It's only in sending, I receive pictures from other people with no problem.
So I just got two LTE galaxy watch 4's to use when I don't want to carry my phone with me (while exercising). After spending two hours at a T-Mobile store and another hour on the phone with a technician, they escalate and another tech comes on and advises me that the galaxy watch 4 cannot be used as a standalone on t mobile. It can only be used when connected and near the phone its paired with! WHY would T-Mobile sell an LTE watch that can only be used when connected to the phone? That is called a Bluetooth watch! Very frustrated with them wasting 3 hours of my time, when this could have been mentioned when the watches were ordered. And even then, why sell LTE watches instead of Bluetooth watches? Has anyone one had this issue?
Multiple times on most days, at no particular time of day, internet access stops working. Devices can still connect to the WiFi network, but there is no internet access on WiFi or wired until the device gets turned off and back on. In rare cases it might work itself out within a matter of hours, for example if I am not home to reboot it. It has been like this the entire time I’ve had it, and it causes parts of my security system not to work, as well as stops my crypto mining that my PC does when I’m not using it, therefore actively costing me money when I’m not home to babysit the gateway (eg, at work).I really, really want to stick with T-Mo but I’ll have to sign up with the local cable monopoly if uptime is this bad.
Hello all. I'd like to know why my mobile hotspot speeds are so much slower than my regular data connection. I have the old $70 unlimited plan from several years ago, when T-Mobile first started changing things. I have 4G LTE data, and even the mobile hotspot add-on (according to my T-Mobile app) supposedly uses the LTE network and not some slower speed. However, it has been this way for a long time, not just recently. My download speeds when I test it on the phone itself, using the data connection, are decent. The one I just did was 12Mbps. But when I followed that up with a speed test on my PC, using the mobile hotspot, it was 1.33Mbps!Why is this? Does the T-Mobile hotspot throttle your data speeds automatically? I've only used 0.1 GB of my allotment, so I know I haven't gone over. This is pretty terrible. Please help! Thanks,John
