Had a Booster which worked fine until it broke. Now after 3 months TMobile said new boosters were not available. The suggested the Cellspot. Does the Cellspot need to stay connected to router via Ethernet cable after setup?

Yes. The CellSpot uses your internet connection to provide the cell service that the CellSpot generates.
