Recently purchased the pet tracker. All it seems to do is tell me it needs to be charged and update the firmware once a day. How do I return it?

It does do that a lot! Have you set up your pet and the safe zone? It cant tell you that your pet is outside the safe zone unless you tell it where your pet is safe. Second, go in notifications and you can determine which notifications you want to receive.
