Is geofencing really the only movement-based SyncUP alert that is available?
Virtually every other tracking device out there can alert in response to motion after some period of immobility. This is of obvious value when someone else moves your stuff.
I believe the device itself detects motion via accelerometer -- I think I read somewhere that it goes into a low-power mode if it doesn’t move for ten minutes. We have these hidden and hard-wired in our vehicles, but it sure would be annoying to have a vehicle stolen with a handy tracker onboard -- that wasn’t bright enough to alert you to motion. We geofence our house, but it isn’t as if I’m going to geofence the grocery store, our friends’ houses, restaurants, etc etc etc.
I appreciate the completely reasonable monthly fee on these, but the software leaves a lot to be desired.
