I’m trying to sign on to the app. I enter my number associated with my IPad and it tells me a verification code has been sent but I never received one. Are you able to receive the verification code in your messages on an iPad?

I’m trying to sign on to the app. I enter my number associated with my IPad and it tells me a verification code has been sent but I never received one. Are you able to receive the verification code in your messages on an iPad?
I also could not get a text (verification code) on my iPad using my iPad T-Mobile number.
However, the app and verification does work on my iPad if I use my T-Mobile phone number assigned to my account.
