If you have an Android phone you can long press the number and block them but
VM may come through.

It depends on how you define "unwanted". If a specific person is calling you all the time, many phones have a feature to blacklist a specific number or specific pattern. I happen to block all calls from any number that shares the same CO as my phone, since these numbers are often spoofed. (CO = Central office First three digits of the 7-digit phone number. e.g. If the number is +1AAACCCXXXX any call that matches +1AAACCC is blocked) On an Android phone this is done in the settings of the call app.
T-Mobile has also provided SCAM Blocking which is covered in this document Scam ID & Scam Block
I use it and get very few unwanted calls.
I just did the CO trick on my phone but I didn't need to put in the 1 so maybe
it's phone brand specific. Thanks
Yeah, but.....doesn't that block ALL local numbers as well?
