Nokia 5G21 gateway software upgrade breaks ping and traceroute on clients

I have the Nokia 5G21 gateway… my home router connects to it via Ethernet cable.

In the wee hours of the morning today, the gateway received a software update to a new version of 1.2201.00.0324

Previous to this upgrade, Linux and Windows computers in my home could do an IPV4 “ping” and “traceroute” functions (very useful when troubleshooting network issues). After the gateway software upgrade, this functionality (which uses a network protocol called ICMP) no longer work.

Is this an intended effect of the new software version, or is it a “bug”?

Thanks!

I have the Sagemcom 5688W and only just got service yesterday. I’ve always been able to ping, both before and after the initial firmware update, but traceroute dies after the gateway. Seems odd since they’re both ICMP. At first I figured the same as you, something is blocking ICMP. However I’ve tried tcptraceroute and UDP too with the exact same results as ICMP. Nothing after the gateway.

OK, the issue for me has become a little bit more weird - IPV4 ping to (say) 8.8.8.8 works about 5% of the time, fails 95%.
