I have had the Arcadyan gateway for a couple of months now, although it is better than the “Trashcan” Nokia, it still drops the connection. I am experiencing these intermittent outages on an average of 4 or 5 times a day. And that is getting extremally frustrating. I have a strong signal, but low signal to noise ratio. I am unable to give exact figures as the internet is offline again.
I noticed when I transferred the SIM card from the Nokia, it has many fine scratches on the contact face. Could this contribute to my problem? In addition, I also notice that the Arcadyan gateway is warm, not hot, but in the 85 to 95 degree range. Just in case, I ordered the 3D printed base just to be on the safe side of this issue.
I’m very happy with T-Mobile Home Internet service. I come from AT&T ADSL that never exceeded 5.5 MBs down and 0.4 MBs upload speeds. Latency in the 500 to 800 MS range. Coupled with AT&T’s useless customer support and poor service the move was inevitable.
