I have used T-Mobile for 3 years. As I live in a rural area, my only other options are local wireless (very slow) and satellite (slow and expensive). I have used Hulu Live TV for 9 months with no problems. Suddenly this week, Hulu has stopped working due to IP address changes with T-Mobile. I have apparently moved to San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Phoenix in the last few days. I have contacted Hulu to reset my IP address several times, but I am getting tired of doing this. Why is this a problem after 9 months? Why can’t T-Mobile give me a static IP address?
Problems with streaming Hulu Live TV
Not to be dismissive of your request (which, I think, is possible if you upgrade to a business account), but the problem is more on the Hulu side, since some services like YouTubeTV allow users to identify a physical location for their service independent of the IP connection point.
As for locations, I live near Sacramento, but my location is in SF or Oakland. I suspect the location comes from the TM location where your access originates. Personally, I don’t care where my location service shows me.
Also, restart your TM gateway every 2-3 weeks to re-establish a clean connection and clear any cache on the device.
Just a note...it is T Mobile that offers the business account (not Hulu) that will give you a static IP (at extra cost). And it’s YouTubeTV that allows you to set a location (not YouTube, which I don’t think cares about location).
