Can I get Get YouTube TV promo with T-Mobile One Unlimited 55+

Badge

I have been trying to figure out how to take advantage of the YouTube TV promo offer of $54.99 per month. I am a T-Mobile existing customer with T-Mobile One Unlimited 55+. I never signed up for TVision and never have had a YouTube TV account. I keep being told by people that I will receive a special code from T-Mobile, but I am not sure that will happen or when, because I never had a TVision account. I also don’t know if my T-Mobile plan even qualifies.

Your plan qualifies. Sign in to your account. Scroll through the page. There should be an announcement about it somewhere. Click on the link for instructions. If that fails, contact customer service.

The way T-Mobile has done this promo is absolutely ridiculous!  The lack of instruction out there on how to claim it makes it even more annoying!

Go to: promotions.t-mobile.com, enter your number, sign in, and follow the steps.  You have to wait up to 3 days for verification to receive your promotional code with instructions on how to redeem it.  I haven’t received mine yet, so I can’t really say how that is going to go.

The person in charge of this mess needs a stern talking to for such an asinine way of doing things with absolutely no transparency and instruction on how to even do so!

I tried promotions.t-mobile.com but it requires that I already have a promo code. How and when do I receive that and by what means? Do I have to go somewhere to request it?

I must admit, I’ve never encountered a more difficult promotion to take advantage of.

I used 2021PhiloP1 for the promo code. I haven't heard back yet.

Called Customer Care. The link is https://promotions.t-mobile.com/tv. You fill in some information. After 3 or 4 days you get a texted promo code and instructions.

I don’t understand all the trouble going on here. I logged into my account, clicked on the message about the changes upcoming to tvision, selected the option of you tube TV. The promo code was already given. I was set up within 5 minutes! Did not have to call customer service nor use the promotions link. Am I the only one to have no problems signing up for YouTube TV?

Why Philo? I thought every one was going to tmobile?

Tmobile shut down Tvision.

The problem seems to be with existing Tmobile/Youtube TV customers. I had to search the internet to get to the landing page associated with the promotion.  Also, after applying and getting the code, the instructions tell you that you must cancel your YoutubeTV subscription and then restart it.  I did that but there is nothing that confirms that the link you took yourself to and cancel/restart membership has been confirmed.  The only thing confirmed is that your membership has either been canceled or restarted.  I still don’t know if I have been given the discount.  This is a pretty bad way of working with two large corporations trying to provide a discount.  You would think they could confirm the two customers once given the request for your wanting the discount.

I spent 1 hr and 15 minutes yesterday trying to find a T Mobile employee who had any real knowledge about the proper procedure to sign up.  Talked to 4 different representatives.  I am not impressed with T-Mobile on this.

I would appreciate some guidance to complete on this offer.

I have asked for and read my code and formally got to a page telling me I was successful in processing correctly the the $10 offer for YTTV. That page has a continue link and here is my confusion.

I am taken to a page headlined tmo ike and Google and I scroll down and see a tab to accept $65 pm and/or a free trial. Should  I continue? How does this work? Am I to sign up for $65 pm and t-mobile credits me back $10?

Somewhat confusing and I don't want to risk starting 2 accounts. LOL.

THANKS.

I believe you need to…

  1. Apply for the T-Mobile code for YouTube TV when there is less than 3 weeks remaining on the current month of your existing YouTube TV subscription.  I think the code is only good for 3 weeks.
  2. Receive the T-Mobile code.
  3. Cancel your existing YouTube TV subscription.
  4. On the day that your YouTube TV subscription ends, use the code and sign up for a new YouTube TV subscription.  Be sure to use the same email address that was linked to your old YouTube TV account so your recordings and scheduled recordings carry over to the new subscription.

At least this is how I am going to try when I get my code.

I’m a Tmobile Home Internet user and supposedly I too qualify for this promo.  I filled out the promo form that says it takes 3-4 business days.  It’s been 9 days.  I don’t even want to call support as I know it’s going to be something taken care of outside their department and they will be clueless about it (as another user here pointed out.)

I noticed that so far the comments here it seems those confirming getting signed up were previously Tmobile vision customers.  But no one here that did the form that says it takes 3-4 days actually has mentioned they actually got a code.  Has anyone?

Yes.  I was an existing YouTube TV subscriber.   Never heard of T-Vision until recently.

I used the link to request a code.  I received a confirmation text message soon after to inform that my submission would be reviewed for eligibility and would receive a confirmation in 3-4 days.  There was also a link to track the progress of my submission.

The confirmation text arrived just two days later and included a link to redeem the coupon.

Then I canceled my YouTube TV subscription a couple of days before it was due to renew.

As soon as the subscription ended I used the redemption link provided earlier and signed up for a new subscription to YouTube TV using the same email address as I used for my previous subscription.

Since I am also a T-Mobile Home Internet subscriber, as well as a Magenta Max 55+ subscriber I was able to replace my existing Netflix $17.99 Premium subscription with a discounted subscription through my T-Mobile phone account.   As I have only one line, I got an $8.99 discount for Netflix Premium.

So I saved $25 a month switching to T-Mobile Internet from Mediacom Cable.

I saved $10 a month on YouTube.

I saved $20 a month switching to T-Mobile Magenta Max 55+ from my old unlimited plan.

I saved $9 a month on a Netflix Premium subscription.

T-Mobile saved me $64 per month in total.   I can’t complain.

I more specifically interested to hear if any Tmobile Home Internet customers have gotten a response.  If you’re a home Internet user  you have to login to your router to get your text messages.  I’m guessing you are a Tmoble mobile service customer not a Tmobile Home Internet customer and have no idea what I’m talking about?  My gut is telling me that a minuscule number of people are like me in that they are a Home Internet customer AND they tried to signup for the YouTube TV discount.  I’m guessing it’s 99.9% Tmoble mobile (phone) service customers that have signed up for it.

I had already started my T-Mobile Home Internet service before I applied for a discount to YouTube TV.  Perhaps it was because I was also a T-Mobile phone service customer that I was able to apply for the discount code on the T-Mobile page.    I provided my T-Mobile phone number as the contact when I applied for the discount code.   I see that Home Internet only subscribers have to enter the gateway phone number, and that probably is the hold up.
