Can my T-Mobile home internet device be used at a different address than the one that is registered at? Or will T-Mobile register a second address for you to be able to use the device at?

As I recall the official statement from T-Mobile is that the gateway is not a mobile device but is location specific. T-Mobile tends to load the towers with subscribers and once the tower is filled then they do not add more users. The home internet device is not treated like a cell phone connection for roaming. If you want the absolute and official answer call T-Mobile support and have them explain it. There might be an FAQ on the subject. I cannot recall.

RE: From an online chat with T-Mobile

“As per checking here on our end you can move the device anywhere inside the house location and if we are planning to move it on another location or address the answer is No due to the T-Mobile 5G Gateway is specific to your eligible address, so you can't move it from one location to another. This helps us assure that the place of use meets our network standards to provide you and others with a high quality of service.”

If you move you can take the router to the new location IF there is availability on the towers in the new location for service. In effect you agree to use it in the initial location and can take the router with you and register it in a new location but there has to be available space on the towers.

I have used the gateway at multiple locations in some cases coverage has been spotty but in other cases it works just fine.  The unfortunate part is that when I move the gateway device to my RV at a remote location all of my home smart devices no longer work since there is no longer a home internet connection.  It would be nice of T-Mobile solutioned something to have the flexibility of retaining your home connectivity while also allowing service to be extended to remote locations.  Would even be willing to pay additional to have this capability.

Just establish and pay the monthly cost for a 2nd T-Mobile Home Internet account.

Be aware of violating T-Mobile terms and conditions on using the gateway remotely.
